Chapter 700
Caden smiled. โLuck has always been on my side. I bet itโll be a girl.โ
Alicia, observing his confident expression, dreaded the financial ruin that loomed. Throughout her pregnancy, she worked tirelessly, showing no signs of fatigue. Blake largely resolved the gallery's complications and, after consulting with Alicia, planned his imminent departure due to pressing business demands. Alicia gave a distracted nod. โMr. Langstaff, manage it as you see fit. My approval isnโt necessary.โ
Blake saw her exhaustion, recognizing her preoccupation with Caden's precarious situation. Once a leader, Caden was now under intense scrutiny; any problem would quickly surface. Blake was already aware of some whispers. He placed a bottle of herbal calming tonic on her desk. โAlicia, youโre Cadenโs bedrock. Itโs crucial you take care of yourself.โ
Tears welled in Aliciaโs eyes, and she nodded. Blake continued earnestly, โAvoid rash decisions. I suspect the Moss family may approach you. Any misstep could undermine all of Cadenโs hard work.โ
Alicia, surprised by his insight, managed a weak smile. โThank you, Mr. Langstaff. Iโll handle it.โ
After Blake left, Alicia steeled herself and returned to her work. As evening approached, she called Caden. โYou promised dinner,โ she reminded him gently. โAre you wrapping up soon?โ
Caden, remembering his promise, had already adjusted his plans. โIโll pick you up soon.โ
Alicia softly acknowledged and ended the call. Caden was preparing to leave when Hank rushed in. โMr. Ward, Gareth has just arrived in Warrington.โ He paused for breath. โHeโs asking to meet with you immediately.โ
Caden frowned, glancing at his dark phone screen. โHeโs just landed; he might be exhausted. Have him check into the hotel first. Iโll meet him in an hour.โ
โMr. Ward, is there an urgent matter?โ Hank asked.
โYes, there is,โ Caden replied.
