Chapter 625: Damn it.
Dorian was pushing his limits. "I'll have the medicine delivered immediately," Caden said, rolling up his sleeves. Gareth's blood type is A. "Use mine if needed." Gareth's fate hinged on the medication's swift arrival. All Caden could do was keep him alive.
During the transfusion, Caden asked, "How much blood does Gareth need?" The doctor replied wearily, "A significant amount. I'll assess based on your health. Do any of your bodyguards have type A blood?" Caden said, "This situation is so sudden. I brought only a few bodyguards, and they're all securing the medication. Substance abuse is prevalent here; without thorough screenings, I can't risk their blood." Caden offered his own. "Start with me." He maintained excellent physical condition; some blood loss was manageable. Even so, his complexion paled noticeably after the needle was removed. He bandaged his arm and turned to Gareth, who was barely breathing.
A troubling thought lingered. His team and the police were investigating the shooter, but found no trace. Could the assailant have simply vanished? After severing Gareth's artery, the attacker had removed the bullet before fleeing. That bullet was key evidence; the assailant likely removed it to avoid being traced.
Before Caden could consider this further, the medical equipment blared urgent alarms. Despite the transfusion, without the medication, Gareth's blood loss resumed, his vital signs plummeting. Caden rushed out to check on the medication. A bodyguard was reporting its imminent arrival when a loud bang cut the call short. The line went dead.
Caden gripped his phone, a vice squeezing his head, leaving him tense and breathless. He pressed his lips together and stormed out. Dorian's presence wasn't merely to taunt Caden; he was primarily checking on Yolanda. While discussing Yolanda's condition with the doctor, the door burst open. Caden stormed in, pinning Dorian against the desk, his chin gripped tightly, his face reddening. Yet Dorian showed no fear, calmly meeting Caden's furious gaze. "It seems I might hear some good news," Dorian said, a hint of amusement in his tone.
