Chapter 591
“I know better than anyone who’s truly responsible, and I believe Yolanda knows too,” Alicia retorted, her impatience evident. “You can refuse, but if you do, let Yolanda leave here on her hands and knees. The choice is yours. I’m fine with either outcome.”
Yolanda clutched Dorian’s hand, her voice trembling. “Dad, I don’t want to go.” Her words, however, held little weight.
The bodyguards arrived promptly at Caden’s summons. Dorian’s expression hardened.
“Caden, Yolanda made a mistake, and you’ve already punished her. Do you really want to force my hand?”
Caden shrugged, a smirk playing on his lips. “What I did has nothing to do with Alicia. Today, she’s merely venting, and I’m simply fulfilling my girlfriend’s wishes.”
At his nod, the bodyguards forcibly removed Yolanda. She screamed desperately, “Dad, I don’t want to go! Please help me!”
Dorian moved to intervene, but Corey stopped him. “It’s just a gesture of apology; it’s not unreasonable,” Corey insisted. “Caden dared to defy you publicly today, signaling his intent to break ties. Why provoke him?”
Fuming, Dorian shoved Corey aside and ordered someone to follow Yolanda and ensure her safety. His anger clouded his judgment.
“Caden is fearless,” Dorian said coldly. “But one day, he’ll come crawling back, admitting his mistake.”
Corey chuckled, shaking his head. “So what’s stopping you? He’s twenty-six, at the peak of his impulsiveness. Act before he turns thirty, or you might regret it.”
Dorian fell silent, his expression unreadable. Even at this point, a flicker of sentimentality lingered. But Caden had been ruthless, having disregarded their friendship first. Dorian knew he needed to act.
After Corey left, Dorian addressed outstanding issues with his Q Robot. The demonstration had been successful. Eager to satisfy clients, he gave the chip to his subordinates for cloning without a thorough inspection. His secretary, however, remained dubious.
“Mr. Hampton, is it truly resolved? Doesn’t it seem too simple?”
