Chapter 481:
Caden, engrossed in investigating Corey's activities and developing new products, received assistance from Alicia. Noticing the dark circles under her eyes, he asked, "Are you ignoring your gallery?"
Alicia retorted, "Mr. Langstaff is managing the gallery better than I ever did. I only need to check in occasionally."
Caden teased, "Wasn't the gallery your 'true love'? Now you're abandoning it without a second thought."
"This job pays better," Alicia replied. "It's good to be versatile."
Caden continued, "So, you're here to steal my tricks and plan a coup to take over Blizzard Group?"
Alicia grinned. "Yes! Are you scared?"
"Scared? I end up in your grasp every night. Have you ever caught me scared?" Alicia blushed at his implication, relieved that no one overheard.
"Why do you never think before you speak?" she scolded.
Caden laughed, enjoying their playful banter. However, unforeseen dangers lurked. Since Yolanda's alliance with Corey, she had persistently attempted to meet Caden at Warrington. Despite repeated failures, she remained undeterred. Hank, increasingly frustrated, reported, "Mr. Ward, she's waiting downstairs and refuses to leave without seeing you." He fell silent upon noticing Alicia's presence.
Caden simply instructed, "Send her home."
Hank hesitated, glancing at Alicia. He whispered, "Miss Moss has quite a temper. We can't force her to leave. A video of her was recently posted online, and the comments are...unfavorable."
Caden's expression turned serious. Understanding the complex family dynamics, Alicia suggested, "Perhaps you should meet with her."
Caden disliked her conciliatory tone. "Why should I? What's the point?"
"You can't keep avoiding her," Alicia explained. "Involving the Moss family will only complicate matters."
"The easiest solution is to give her what she wants," Caden said vaguely. "If you're alright with it, I'll arrange it."
Alicia fell silent, confused by his sudden displeasure. His words lacked conviction, leaving her speechless. Hank discreetly excused himself, sensing the tension.
Alicia sighed. "That's not what I meant. Yolanda's health is fragile. Imagine the repercussions if something happened to her at your company." The potential fallout from Dorian's reaction weighed heavily on Caden. He felt the burden of responsibility acutely.
