Caden unexpectedly lifted Alicia and carried her to bed. They remained there for a long time, his hands gently tracing her body. "Do you have any questions for me, Alicia?" he finally asked. "Do you have anything you want to tell me?" she replied. He realized she suspected his intentions. He said nothing, and they fell asleep.
The next morning, Caden departed. Alicia stayed at Joy Mansion, intending to work online. The gallery’s orders had increased significantly since Blake became her assistant, easing her workload considerably. She decided to offer him a partnership, establishing an equal business arrangement.
Blake hesitated, citing his non-Warrington residency and his brother's schooling. Alicia readily addressed these concerns. Valuing his talent, she was prepared to support him fully. Blake subsequently visited Joy Mansion to discuss the proposal.
He arrived to find Alicia teaching Ray piano. Bathed in the warm sunset light, they created a breathtaking scene. Mesmerized, Blake paused, struck by Alicia's exceptional beauty. He understood Caden's attraction and acknowledged his own growing feelings for her, a realization that surprised him.
When the music ended, Alicia pinned up her hair and left the room. Seeing him in the hall, she exclaimed, "Blake! What brings you here?" He composed himself, concealing his emotions. "I was hoping to discuss your proposal. If I accept, would Caden agree?"
Alicia chuckled. "I don't need his approval. I have final say over the gallery." "I see," Blake murmured, realizing he’d been overthinking. "I'll consider it. Please give me some time."
Ray ran to him, grabbing his hand. Their sibling squabbles were short-lived; Ray was immediately affectionate again. Blake ruffled his hair. "Do you like Alicia?" he asked.
"I do," Ray replied, blushing. Whispering, he added, "What about you, Blake? Do you like her, too?"
Blake knelt to meet his gaze. "Well, I really like the music Alicia plays. It's beautiful, isn't it?" Ray found his response odd but said nothing, returning to the piano and striking a jarring chord.
"Alicia, do you know where Caden has gone this time?" Blake asked softly, almost inaudibly, his question laced with apprehension. Alicia, however, noticed the emotion in his eyes.
