Chapter 401
Ciara, clearly enjoying the drama, replied, โI told you, Blake is no ordinary man. If he can bring me so much happiness, wouldn't joining me on a trip be a simple task?โ She added, fueling the fire, โAlicia will be away for quite some time, and with Blake just a wall away at the hotel, who knows what might happenโฆโ Before she finished, Caden stormed out.
Instead of rushing to find Alicia, he returned to the office. Hank, preparing to leave for the day, was surprised by Caden's sudden appearance. โMr. Ward, are you working overtime after just returning?โ Caden curtly replied, โYou can leave on time.โ
Hank hesitated. โIt wouldnโt be right to leave you here aloneโฆโ
โThen do something for me,โ Caden insisted.
Hank, dumbfounded, looked confused. โMr. Ward, Iโฆโ
โSomeone contacted me about the gallery issue a few days ago. Remember? Get me the original documents.โ
Hank felt a surge of regret, nearly slapping himself for his hesitation as he left Cadenโs office.
Caden reviewed the documents. Now fully focused, Hank offered, โActually, this can be easily resolved. I can handle it.โ He froze mid-sentence as Caden began to undress. Caden's expression remained stoic, emotionless, as if casually sipping coffee.
Hank, bewildered, asked, โMr. Ward, what are you doing?โ
Caden, still focused on the documents, commanded, โPlease leave my office and close the door.โ
Speechless, Hank simply stood there. Caden carefully placed the documents on his desk, quickly photographed them, and sent the image to Alicia.
It took a while before Alicia noticed the message; she had blocked him. The photo showed the cover of a documentโthe gallery's original authorization. Puzzled by the unexpected image, she chose not to respond.
Minutes later, Caden sent another message: โThereโs a problem with the galleryโs land.โ
Intrigued, Alicia replied, โWhatโs the problem?โ
Caden responded, โItโs best to discuss this in person.โ
Aware of his intentions, Alicia didnโt respond directly but sent someone to investigate. They confirmed a problem. When Caden initially purchased the gallery, the land was highly sought after, acquired at a premium price. He claimed to have overpaid, but this had created enemies who were now seeking retribution.
