Chapter 315:

The driver sped away. Dorian, his eyes blazing with fury, confronted Caden. “Did you really let Yolanda stand out in the cold for so long?”

Caden’s expression remained impassive. “Me? You give me too much credit. She chose that method of apology, not I.”

“Why didn’t you intervene?” Dorian shouted, his agitation evident. “Her health is fragile! How could she endure the cold?”

Caden replied flatly, “You wanted her to apologize to Alicia, yet you expect me to stop her. Dorian, you can’t have it both ways.”

Dorian realized Caden had orchestrated the situation, but his anger couldn't entirely obscure the truth. Frustrated, he stormed off.

Ciara, having witnessed the exchange, understood this was part of Caden’s plan to protect Alicia. Still bewildered, she asked, “Caden, you seem upset. What’s really going on?”

Caden looked down, his voice calm yet cold. “Nothing. I’ll take you home.”

Ciara didn't press him. “I’d like to see Alicia first.”

Alicia was surprised to learn Ciara was Caden’s grandmother; she hadn’t known. Ciara observed Alicia’s weakened state, feeling a surge of empathy. “That brat’s been causing you trouble, hasn’t he?”

Alicia replied honestly, “No, he hasn’t.”

Ciara, unwilling to assign blame, acknowledged Caden’s primary responsibility. It was his problem to solve. She steered the conversation toward lighter topics, aiming to ease the tension.

As they chatted, Caden returned. He looked at Ciara without emotion. “You came here alone, without a bodyguard?”

Ciara remained unfazed. “There are plenty of people in the hospital. What could possibly happen? Besides, I’m with Alicia. What danger could we face?”

Caden’s response was icy. “She caused Yolanda muscle tears with a single slap. What do you think?”

Ciara was stunned, speechless for a moment. She felt a powerful urge to reprimand Caden. The infuriating child! Even now, he continued to upset Alicia.

Caden stated flatly, “Let’s go. I’ll take you home.”

Ciara waved him off. “Go away. I want to stay and talk with Alicia.”

Caden looked frustrated. “She might not want your company.”

Ciara retorted, “You’re the one she doesn’t want around. Leave!”

Caden fell silent. At that moment, the doctor arrived to administer new medication to Alicia. The extent of her frostbite was shocking.
