She was extremely satisfied with the feeling of working for something she was passionate about. For once, she was just living for herself and not for anyone else. She didn't even remember the messy relationships she had with Lucas and Blake.
Father after tennis, Lucas had just dosed a document and was rubbing his temples. He looked at his watch and realized it was almost 1:00 PM. His stomach rumbled, and he reached out to the left side of his desk out of habit. However, he found nothing.
Every day without fail, thanks to Malia, there was always a thermos packed with food ready for him in the afternoon. On top of the thermos, there would also be a sticky note with delicate and elegant handwriting, reminding him to eat his lunch.
Looking up, he called out, “Malia.”
Mirkur came in and asked, “Mi Giai, what can I do for you?”
Lucas looked thoughtfully at the empty space on the left side of his desk and asked, “Did you throw today’s lunchbox away?”

He sent and replied, “Mr. Gram, Ms. Reed has not come up yet! I called the FT. department, and they told me that she hadn’t reported to work today. They claimed that she’s already resigned.” Throwing a tantrum or something?
Kabury delivered lunch to Lucas every day without fail, eager to make her presence known. Lucas rarely ate the food she made and would ask Michael to deal with it.
He had never taken Evelyn’s resignation seriously. He knew that Evelyn was in need of a Handy Balan of time until being Jensen caught up to her and she secured a high-paying job, but now…
He nonchalantly turned on his phone. Scrolling through his chats, he managed to find Evelyn’s number. The last message she had sent him was about a week ago. Since he had not accompanied her to her doctor’s appointment and celebrated Tiffany’s birthday, she had stopped contacting him altogether.
“In my opinion, this is probably just one of Ms. Reed’s tricks. She probably won’t be able to stay stubborn for long, and it’s only a matter of time until she comes crawling back, pretending that nothing happened,” Michael commented in disdain.
She always liked to play petty tricks on men. She was probably just trying to gain Lucas's attention, but would Lucas even care?
Lucas stared at Evelyn’s profile picture for a moment before putting his phone away. He had no intention of messaging her to ask whether something was wrong. Instead, he stood up and said, “Book a table at a restaurant. I’ll have lunch with Tiffany.”
Before he left, he asked, “Are Mason and Jason supposed to meet up with Mr. Davis from Woodlands Technology today?”
Gorband replied, “They are. Do you have any other instructions?”
Lucas walked out as he instructed, “Ask them to bring Tiffany along and introduce her to them.”
He put on a knowing expression. Tiffany was probably the only one Lucas was so attentive to. He had an odd business lunch meeting he had to attend, and he wanted to bring Evelyn with him.
However, Evelyn’s condition had been worsening, and she could not drink any alcohol due to her cancer. So, she made up an excuse to decline his offer. He had not forced her either and only asked her to pick him up once he was finished.
Hence, she decided to go shopping nearby. In the past, she had been so focused on taking care of Lucas that she never lived her life properly. Even something casual like shopping had been a rare activity for her back then.
Lucas had extremely high standards for food, clothing, and daily necessities. She had spent so much effort meeting his expectations that she had never had time for herself.
Now that her recovery from cancer remained uncertain, she figured she should enjoy life while she could. After walking around for a while, she felt a chill and wrapped the scarf Deborah had knitted around her neck.
When she returned to the restaurant, she asked Sebastian where he was and went straight to the private room. She saw at the door, she heard someone inside say, “Mr. Grant truly does value Ms. Moore; we have purposely brought her here. It’s also our honor to meet someone as talented as her.”
Evelyn looked inside and saw a tall man standing beside Tiffany. He looked at Tiffany, his eyes filled with admiration as he continued, “The two of you are always together. It seems like it’s only a matter of time until Ms. Moore becomes Mrs. Grant.”
“Mr. Grant, it’s fortunate to have someone like Ms. Moore who cares about all of your needs. I’m glad everything in your life is in perfect order.”
Lural commented slowly, “Tiffany’s temperament isn’t suited to doing something so mundane as house chores. She has a world of her own to conquer.”
Evelyn’s funds immediately turned and began to dent the handle of many things. Dini had said earlier, Star was only worthy of being a housewife, but Tiffany was too precious to do much.
Sebastian was also inside the private room, but he remained silent. Ben immediately understood the situation. Since Kuna had refused to meet Tiffany earlier today, Lurat came up with a plan to help them. She was willing to pave the way for her and ensured…
Evelyn took a deep breath. She knew that she was about to sever all ties with Lucas, but she could not help but feel sorry for her past self. She wrapped her scarf around her and headed downstairs, covering her pale face. (No one would disrespect her.)
It was clear that he was frustrated, and when he saw the others waiting outside in the cold, he said, “It’s so cold out here. Why don’t you give me that scarf to use?”
Evelyn proceeded to hand him the scarf without hesitation. After all, Lucas might not appreciate it, and she did not want him to waste her grandmother’s efforts.
As Sebastian wrapped the warm scarf around his neck, he complained, “Lucas is annoying, and he apparently has come tons everywhere. I never expected him to bring Tiffany to lunch today.”
“The bad news is that they offered Tiffany to me. Who does she think she is! And when cars she takes me…”
On the other hand, Loracanilá’s car was already at the parking lot. Maum was the first to spot Evelyn and Sebastian together. His sharp eyes also noticed that they were…
Leak, he ventured, “Is Evelyn cheating on you?”
