Listen to this chapter:

To think Melody even dared to deceive Daniel… What an ungrateful woman she was. Had she forgotten that it was Daniel’s influence that had enabled Christopher to marry her in the first place?

Cynthia hadn’t gone to bed yet; she had prepared a meal and was waiting for Christopher to come home. She was about to approach him when he entered, but she noticed his furrowed brows and displeased expression. He coldly said, “I told you not to do all this last night. Have you packed your things? Once you’re done, Sheldon will help you move.”

She froze, tears welling in her eyes. “Christopher, do you really want to kick me out? You urged me to leave last night, and now, tonight…”

He pursed his lips before answering, “It’s unsuitable for you to stay here. I’m married, and because of this, Melody has left the house. You should leave. It’ll be better for both of you. She won’t harm you anymore.”

Cynthia’s tears flowed uncontrollably. Hurt and anger overwhelmed her, and she blurted out, “Don’t you like me? Isn’t this the perfect opportunity now that Mel is gone? I can live with you! Without her, this house would be ours!”

Christopher’s brows furrowed further, his expression hardening as he replied coldly, “This house is Melody’s and mine. What you and I had in the past is over. The moment you left me for ten million dollars, we could never go back.”

She clenched her fists, her eyes wide. “I don’t believe it! You must still love me. Otherwise, why would you still be so kind to me? You drove me to work, attended my fashion show, took me home, and even let me stay in Melody’s room. When we were both hurt, you always protected me first.”

Christopher’s fists clenched. This was precisely what Sheldon had said earlier, accusing him of going too far. It was clear Cynthia had misunderstood everything, thinking he still loved her.

“And you kissed me several times, leaving marks on my neck. Doesn’t that prove you love me?” she cried, her face tear-streaked.

At these words, Christopher lost his temper. He turned, his neck stiff with anger, retorting, “That was an accident! We’ve never crossed any lines!”

“Hah! How could a trench kiss happen twice by accident?” Cynthia screamed. “Did you know that when you kissed me…”

She continued, vividly describing everything, pushing his anger to a boiling point. The rage, humiliation, and unwillingness to acknowledge his actions snapped his last thread of restraint.

The sound of a slap echoed faster than he could think. Cynthia’s face was instantly marked with a bright red handprint, silencing her words.

She stared at him in shock, tears falling in large drops, frozen in disbelief. Christopher’s face darkened. He knew what he had done and didn’t regret it.

“You have one last day to pack and move out. I’ve already found a place for you, and the rent has been paid. I’ve been more than patient with you,” he said coldly.
