Chapter 208: No Sympathy Left
Yulia clung to the window frame, her eyes filled with terror as Sierra approached. โDonโt come any closer! If you take another step, Iโll jump!โ
โThen jump,โ Sierraโs voice was cold. โThis is the 18th floor. If you jump, your bones will shatter on impact. But donโt worry; you did at least feed me onceโIโll make sure your funeral is taken care of.โ
Yulia was utterly devastated. โHow can you be so heartless?โ She truly felt like she had nowhere left to go. She had thought her past life was miserable, but after experiencing homelessness, she realized things could always get worse.
Meanwhile, Sierra was thriving, basking in success. And every single person who recognized her pointed fingers, cursed her, and ridiculed her. She couldnโt understand. She hadnโt done anything wrongโso why was the world against her? She was at the end of her rope, yet no one cared. Even her own mother had abandoned her.
Gritting her teeth, she hardened her resolve. Fine. If this was how the world treated her, then she might as well end it herself.
Just as she was about to let goโa hand grabbed her wrist, yanking her away from the window. Sierraโs grip was firm, her expression void of sympathy. โEnough. Get out.โ
Yulia struggled, but there was nothing she could do. She wasnโt strong enough to fight Sierra offโlet alone Johnathan and Dickson, who were waiting outside.
Johnathan didnโt waste time. He gave Dickson a look, and the younger man immediately grabbed Yulia, dragging her out the door. Then Johnathan called building security. โMake sure she doesnโt come back.โ
Only after it was done did the two men turn to the closed bedroom door. โMr. Johnathanโฆ Ms. Sierra and her grandmotherโฆ are they okay?โ Dickson asked hesitantly.
โTheyโll be fine.โ Johnathanโs tone was steady, but he was more worried about Sierraโs grandmother than Sierra. Sierra wouldnโt be shaken by this. But grandmaโฆ this was your own daughter. And Johnathan was right.
After Yulia was thrown out, the light faded from Sierraโs grandmotherโs eyes. She sat in her chair in silence.

Sierra was worried. If she had known it would turn out like this, she never would have let Sierraโs grandmother see Yulia.
After a long pause, Sierraโs grandmother finally spoke. โIโm fine, Sierra. I am fine.โ She gently ran her fingers through Sierraโs hair, her voice soft. โWhen Iโm gone, go to Albanos. You have a bright future ahead of you.โ
Her Sierra was never meant to be confined to one place.
โGrandmaโฆโ Sierraโs throat tightened. This was the first time they had ever spoken so openly about death. A lump formed in her chest. โGrandmaโฆ I could save youโฆโ
All she had to do was give in to Kason. Sierraโs grandmother shook her head. โIf that were the case, I would never rest in peace. Follow your heart, Sierra. Donโt let me become your chains.โ
That was the last thing she wanted.
Outside, Yulia had been dumped at the entrance of the apartment complex. She still wanted to cause a scene, but the security guard warned herโif she continued, they would call the police. She paled. Yulia had always been a coward. Her so-called bravery from earlier had probably drained every last ounce of courage she had. Besidesโฆ she wasnโt even sure if she truly had the guts to jump. At least not now.
Lost and hopeless, she wandered aimlesslyโonly to be grabbed and dragged into a van.
Kason never believed that Sierra would refuse to save her grandmother. His sources told him that Sierra cherished her grandmother above all else. But when Yulia, trembling and terrified, recounted everything that had happened, Kason finally understood. She really wasnโt going to save her.
Yulia, of course, had no idea who these people were or why they were looking for her. But she did know one thing. They werenโt friendly. So when Kason asked questions, she spilled everything she knew without hesitation.
Once she had nothing left to say, she hesitated before cautiously asking, โI told you everythingโฆ Can I go now?โ
Kasonโs eyes flickered with amusement. He looked at the pathetic, shivering woman before him and suddenly smiled.
Finished
Chapter 208: No Sympathy Left
โYou said you donโt have a place to stay, right?โ Yuliaโs eyes widened. Kasonโs voice was smooth, persuasive. โI can give you a place. Youโll have food, shelter, everything you need.โ
โReally?โ she couldnโt believe it. After everything, was someone finally willing to help her?
โOf course. I always keep my word.โ Kasonโs smile deepened. โAnd since youโre Sierraโs adoptive mother, I wonโt ask for much in return.โ His words were laced with temptation.
Yulia swallowed. She had nothing left. She was worthless. So there was nothing to lose.
