Chapter 597 The Real Test
Yuniceโs face flushed red as she finally saw Wyattโs post. The likes were already lined up in several neat rowsโclearly everyone had seen it.
Butโฆ it wasnโt really a big deal. What couple didnโt do something cheesy every now and then? No one would take it too seriously.
She turned back to Wyatt and continued explaining, โIโm not doing this to get back at you. Itโs a required clinical rotation. If I donโt go, I fail. And Iโm not letting a failing grade show up on my transcript.โ
That was her academic pride. Even a single lost point was unacceptable.
โClinical rotation?โ Wyatt frowned, clearly uncomfortable. โYou really canโt skip it?โ
โNope.โ
His face soured. โNot a week. Not two. A whole month.โ
โIf I donโt go, I fail!โ Yunice said again. โI already got permission to study remotely this long. Now I have to be on campus for a monthโwhatโs the big deal? You think college is easy to coast through?โ
Wyatt sat up. โSo you go off for a month. What am I supposed to do?โ
Yunice snapped, โWhatever you want! Youโre not a child. I donโt have to babysit you. Youโre not working anywayโlock yourself upstairs and play dress-up or something!โ
โHey!โ Elianna suddenly burst out of the kitchen. โNora just liked your post!โ
Wyatt and Yunice both looked at her. Neither looked thrilledโwho smiles during a fight? And Eliannaโs complete lack of timing only made things worse.
She froze where she stood, still at a safe distance, then tried to backpedal: โI just thoughtโsince Nora liked the photoโit meant she accepted your relationship? So maybe the three of you could be friends nowโฆโ
Before she could finish, Yunice exploded.
โWho the hell needs her approval?! Who the hell asked for it?!โ
Elianna turned and bolted upstairs. She didnโt mean anything by it. She just thought if everyone got along, it would be better. Why was Yunice so scary?
Yuniceโs anger didnโt just scare Eliannaโit made Wyatt tense too.
Already mid-argument, and now someone brought up Nora of all people? He was definitely guilty, and it showed.
That guilt made him cave. โFine. You can go. But Iโm getting you a private dorm room.โ
Otherwise, under normal arrangements, Yunice would be stuck in a four-person dorm. Too noisy, too crowded, and who knew what kind of roommates sheโd get. No need to put up with that.
But Yunice still wasnโt pleased. โI havenโt been on campus in months. Now I show up and get special treatment? What do you think people will say? Iโm sticking with the standard arrangement.โ
With that, she kicked Wyatt aside, slipped on her slippers, and marched upstairs.
Wyatt stayed behind, rubbing his temples. Irritated, he pulled out his phone, found Noraโs profile in his WhatsApp contactsโand deleted her.
Elsewhere, Nora was sitting with a group of friends at a clubhouse. They were all former mutuals of hers and Wyattโs. Even though they no longer acknowledged her past status, when she invited them out as a โfriend,โ none of them refused.
Naturally, theyโd all seen Wyattโs post.
After giving it a like, Nora smiled. โHeโs still the same as beforeโฆโ
Everyone around her exchanged uncertain glances. To be honest, they all assumed Wyatt had posted that announcement specifically to show Noraโand to make her give up. She shouldโve been devastated. But here she was, smiling? Had lying in a hospital bed for years scrambled her brain?
But Nora just looked calm and pleased. โHe waited all this time to post something, and only does it after I woke up. Doesnโt that say everything?โ
The group went silent, their eyes flicking toward her.
โYouโre right,โ Nora continued. โHe posted it just for me. How childishโฆ trying to make me feel bad.โ
They frownedโbut no one challenged her. After all, this group of socialites were masters at reading the room. Theyโd already started calculating which woman had Wyattโs heart, because that answer would shape their future social ties.
