Chapter 349 Loaded

Yunice said, โ€œWyatt, if youโ€™re really feeling upset, I can help you sleep for a while.โ€

Wyatt locked onto her wording. โ€œYou mean youโ€™ll help me sleep, or let me sleep?โ€

Yunice looked at him. She had already prepared herself for the possibility that she and Wyatt might one day consummate the marriage.

She was just about to say, "If sleeping with me will help you feel better, then Iโ€™m okay with it," but Wyatt cut her off before she could speak.

โ€œI originally wanted to wait until you were willing. But now itโ€™s clear youโ€™ll never love me, so I donโ€™t want to pretend anymore.โ€

Yuniceโ€™s brows furrowed slightly. She stared into Wyattโ€™s eyes, trying to read the cold detachment in his gaze.

โ€œWhat do you mean?โ€ she asked.

Wyatt said, โ€œIโ€™m done pretending.โ€

Realizing he wasnโ€™t joking, Yunice immediately tried to stand up.

Wyatt pressed down on the back of her neck, keeping her from escaping.

Yunice snapped, โ€œWeโ€™ve barely even started this act and you already want to drop it? I havenโ€™t taken the bait yet.โ€

Sheโ€™d long known that what Wyatt loved most was being the hunter.

He was a patient hunterโ€“he liked luring his prey into his trap little by little with sweet promises. Then, at the very moment the prey let its guard down and began to enjoy itself, heโ€™d deliver the fatal shot.

Extreme joy, extreme painโ€“that was his game.

So even when Wyatt treated her well, Yunice always kept a sliver of caution in her heart.

She hadnโ€™t expected him to run out of patience after just a few months.

Then again, for him, a few months was already pushing it. In the past, a month had been more than enough for any of the others.

No wonder he was tired of waiting.

Wyatt gripped the back of her neck, his jaw clenched. His voice was low and rough. โ€œYeah, I donโ€™t want to pretend anymore.โ€

Yunice tried to pull back, but Wyattโ€™s hand stayed firmโ€“like he was holding a disobedient cat. She couldnโ€™t move.

Wyattโ€™s gaze drifted downward, landing at her collar. โ€œTake it off.โ€

Yunice didnโ€™t move. Anger swelled inside her.

She said, โ€œIโ€™m willing to give myself to you, but if you try to force it, I wonโ€™t.โ€

Wyatt challenged her. โ€œAnd if I insist?โ€

Yuniceโ€™s hands trembled slightly. She didnโ€™t answer.

Seeing that she didnโ€™t outright refuse, Wyatt tilted her chin up and kissed her.

Yuniceโ€™s whole body trembledโ€“she was struggling emotionally.

She could give herself to Wyatt. But now, at the very moment he laid it bare, the entire situation felt different.

Then, in one fluid motion, she reached down beside her leg, pulled something out, and with a loud clickโ€“raised it in both hands, aiming straight at Wyattโ€™s forehead.

Wyatt leaned back in the chair, staring at Yunice, who was now kneeling on top of him, holding a dark, loaded gun right at his face.

His sharp eyes glanced at the weapon. He gave a mocking smile and looked up at Yunice. โ€œI really underestimated you. So all that obedienceโ€“that was just an act too, huh?โ€

He reached a hand toward the gun. โ€œDo you even know how to use this thing?โ€

Before he could touch it, Yunice shouted, โ€œDonโ€™t move!โ€

Wyatt looked confused. โ€œWhy not? Afraid youโ€™ll accidentally shoot me? You donโ€™t want me dead?โ€

Yuniceโ€™s hands trembled even harder. Her voice was tight from pressure. โ€œDonโ€™t push me. I donโ€™t want to hurt you.โ€

Wyatt asked, โ€œWhy donโ€™t you want to hurt me?โ€

โ€œYouโ€™ve never hurt me. Youโ€™ve actually been really good to me. Iโ€™ve always been grateful.โ€

โ€œGratefulโ€ฆโ€ Wyatt lifted his eyes. โ€œAnd yet youโ€™re pointing a gun at me?โ€

He grabbed her wrists, the ones holding the gun. โ€œThen letโ€™s seeโ€“do you dare pull the trigger?โ€

Her hands shook even harder in his grasp.

But Wyatt only pushed further. Yunice struggled to break free, and the gun flew from her hands, clattering to the floor and skidding far across the room.

Out in the living room, the servants waited for the couple to come out for dinnerโ€“but no one came.

Not only did Wyatt not come out, but after Yunice entered the room, she didnโ€™t come out either.

Then came the worst partโ€“the unmistakable sound of crashing and banging from inside the bedroom.

The servantsโ€˜ faces turned pale. That didnโ€™t sound good. Were they fighting?

โ€œYou go checkโ€ฆโ€

โ€œIโ€ฆ I donโ€™t dare go in. You goโ€ฆโ€

The servants kept pushing the responsibility onto each other. But the noise inside was growing too loud and too violent. Worried that something had really happened, one of them ran to call Jordan, hoping he would know what to do.
