Chapter 614

After breakfast, Roxanne played with Archie and Benny before heading to her study. While playing, she worried incessantly about another flower delivery the next day, fearing no excuse would satisfy her children. Eventually, she decided to call Lucian.

Meanwhile, Lucian worked overtime at Farwell Group. His office overflowed with bouquets, clashing drastically with the interior design. The atmosphere grew colder with each rejected delivery. When Cayden apologetically presented another bouquet—already arranged in a vase—Lucian's gaze darkened.

“Mr. Farwell, she sent the flowers back. Again,” Cayden said softly, tense with apprehension.

Lucian glared at Cayden, who quietly placed the flowers in a corner and left, moving silently to avoid his boss's wrath.

Alone, Lucian stared at the profusion of flowers. He had followed Jonathan's advice, sending bouquet after bouquet despite Roxanne's rejections, but she remained unmoved. Frustrated, he reached for his phone to call Jonathan, when it lit up with an incoming call.

He frowned, surprised to see Roxanne's name. Since the first delivery, she hadn't contacted him. Could she have changed her mind? Nervous, he answered.

“Mr. Farwell,” Roxanne greeted him coolly.

Lucian's heart sank. “Good day, Ms. Jarvis. How can I help you?”

Roxanne's annoyance was palpable. “Mr. Farwell, what’s the meaning of your persistent flower deliveries? I've made my rejection clear. Why waste your efforts?”

Lucian's frown was quickly masked. “Just as you are free to reject my deliveries, I am free to express my affections, Ms. Jarvis.”

Roxanne clenched her fists. “I may not have a say, but I implore you to consider the propriety of your timing. I don’t believe you want the children to learn about this, do you, Mr. Farwell?”

Lucian fell silent. He had been doing this without Estella's knowledge, who believed Roxanne had accepted the flowers. If Archie and Benny knew Roxanne's rejection, they would tell Estella.

Roxanne took his silence as agreement. “Mr. Farwell, please stop sending these things to my house!” She hung up.
