Chapter 1617: Jealous of Your Own Daughter

After the press conference, Jonathan discreetly departed, not wishing to intrude on the happy couple. Lucian had planned a celebratory outing with Roxanne, but they decided instead to collect the children from home. It had been a while since their busy schedules allowed for a family outing.

โ€œDaddy! Mommy!โ€ The children greeted them enthusiastically upon their arrival.

Roxanne, in high spirits after resolving the morning's matter, smiled and opened her arms, but only Estella received a hug. Lucian scooped up Archie and Benny, one under each arm. As he playfully lifted them, the brothers shrieked with laughter, "We can fly!" Lucian, joining in their mirth, swung them gently by their collars, as they stretched out their arms like airplane wings.

Roxanne, however, was startled by the scene. "Put them down. It's dangerous," she cautioned.

Lucian immediately complied. Archie and Benny, though wanting to continue the fun, obediently ran to Roxanne's side, eager to reassure her.

"We watched TV today! You looked so handsome, Daddy! Mommy, you looked gorgeous too!" Benny exclaimed.

Roxanne ruffled his hair affectionately.

Lucian suggested, in a warm, deep voice, "Come, let's all go out for the evening."

The children's faces lit up with joy. Roxanne and Lucian quickly changed the children into casual clothes before departing.

Lucian had reserved a high-end restaurant on the top floor of the city's tallest building. The entire venue was booked exclusively for their family.

As the five of them dined al fresco on the rooftop, they enjoyed the soothing music and the breathtaking city lights, shimmering like a meteor shower.

"It's been a while, Mr. Farwell," the manager greeted them personally, engaging in pleasantries. "This must be Ms. Jarvis. She's truly beautiful. No wonder you always come here alone, despite our establishment being ideal for a romantic dinner. With such a lovely companion, I'm sure no one else could ever catch your eye."

Roxanne, feeling playful, teased Lucian, asking the manager, "Didn't he come here with Ms. Pearson? Otherwise, what was he doing here alone?"

The manager, seemingly recalling something, waved his hand. "Come to think of it, Mr. Farwell didn't come here alone."

Roxanne's smile faltered. Her playful banter had taken an unexpected turn.

The manager continued, "Mr. Farwell always came with Ms. Farwell, who adored our desserts. I'll bring you two extra portions; I'm sure the boys will enjoy them."

Roxanne's smile became strained as she thanked him. Avoiding Lucian's gaze, she lowered her head to cut the children's steak.

Once the manager left, Lucian playfully retorted, "What is it, Ms. Jarvis? Are you jealous of your own daughter?"

Roxanne playfully stomped her foot under the table.

"What does jealous mean, Mommy?" Estella asked innocently.

Archie and Benny quickly stuffed salad into their sister's mouth to silence her.

Seeing Roxanne's blush deepen, Lucian chuckled softly.
