Chapter 283

โ€œPick a safe word,โ€ Vladya said at last, his shoulders slumped in defeat. The chamber fell silent, all eyes turning to him.

โ€œIf you are going to do this, you will need a safe word. I will be out here. If you say itโ€”if you scream itโ€”I will come in and pull you from his grasp, no matter what.โ€

Emeriel let out a sharp, pained cry. Daemonikai had done something to her, though no one could see what. Still, she stared up at him, cupping his cheek with a trembling hand. โ€œItโ€™s okay, dearest,โ€ she whispered, her voice soft, full of love. โ€œIโ€™m right here. Iโ€™m all yours.โ€

Aekeira shook her head vehemently, her shoulders shaking with sobs. โ€œEm, please!โ€

โ€œKeira. Thatโ€™s my safe word,โ€ Emeriel said, her gaze fixed on Daemonikai. โ€œPromise me you would not come in, no matter what you hear. Promise me you would not enter unless I use the safe word.โ€

A muscle twitched in Vladyaโ€™s jaw. โ€œI promise.โ€

Daemonikai shifted fully into his beast form, his erection massive and glistening. He lifted Emeriel, throwing her onto the bed, his massive body following instantly. Vladya moved to the door and closed it firmly.

Aekeira went berserk, throwing herself at him. โ€œNo, no, no! What are you doing!? I need to get to my sister!โ€

Vladya kept his emotions in check, responding calmly, โ€œHe is already in beast form, Aekeira. It has begun; thereโ€™s nothing we can do at this point.โ€

โ€œThereโ€™s nothing you canโ€”and you call yourselves rulers!?โ€ Aekeira screamed. Pulling away, she whirled to face them all. โ€œYou call yourselves powerful? โ€

Ottai reached for her. โ€œAekeiraโ€”โ€

Scrambling out of his reach, she faced Vladya again. โ€œYou canโ€™t get in there and save a girl from one male!? My sister is in grave danger andโ€”โ€ She shoved him hard. โ€œMove, I will do it myself!โ€

He remained unmoved.

โ€œGet out of my way!โ€ she screamed, beating his chest with her fists. โ€œMove before he startsโ€”โ€

Emeriel screamed. The sound was so high-pitched, so painfully loud, it was heartbreaking. Aekeira went ghostly white. Another scream followed, just as piercing and raw as the first. Anger fled Aekeira's face, replaced by pain so visible it twisted Vladyaโ€™s heart. Her knees buckled. โ€œPโ€”Please, Vlad,โ€ she pleaded, rubbing her hands together. โ€œI wโ€”will do anything you want, just make him sโ€”stop.โ€

Vladyaโ€™s chest felt heavy. It was the past all over again, when the beast mounted her sister, and she could do nothing to stop it.

Vladya turned away. โ€œZaiper, disperse the people and shut down Blackstone. No visitors until further notice.โ€ He paused. โ€œOttai, take Aekeira away.โ€

โ€œWhat!? No!โ€ Aekeira shouted, her tear-filled eyes filled with betrayal. โ€œNo, you canโ€™t do that!โ€

โ€œShould I put her to sleep?โ€ Ottai mouthed, his face grim. โ€œShe cannot be awake for this.โ€

Inside, Emeriel screamed again, and Vladya, even in his detached state, felt her pain like a dagger to the heart.

โ€œYes,โ€ he answered.

Ottai moved forward, lifting the thrashing Aekeira into his arms as she kicked and screamed.

โ€œNo! Let me down! How could you do this to me, Vladya!?โ€ she wailed as Ottai carried her down the hallway. Her voice faded into silence.

Now alone, Vladyaโ€™s hand clenched on the doorknob as another earsplitting scream echoed through the air. He could also hear the unmistakable sound of flesh meeting fleshโ€”hard, impossibly fast thrusts. Leaning against the door, Vladya squeezed his eyes shut. I hope to hell her body produces enough moisture for this, and she never dries up for even a second.

โ€œHow could this happen?โ€ he groaned quietly, anguish leaking from his voice. โ€œDoes this mean his mind was never fully healed from feral? How could this happen?โ€

Inside, the beast let out a particularly high, deep gruntโ€”a sign of orgasm. The princessโ€™s screams dissolved into high, shaky cries. Even in her agony, his semen triggered her release.

For a few seconds, there was blessed silence. Then the strokes began againโ€”hard and fast, relentless. And so did her screams. Time stretched painfully.

At one point, Emerielโ€™s screams cut off abruptly, even as the relentless thrusts persisted. Vladya knew she had lost consciousness. Thank the gods.

He slid to the floor, resting his head against the wall as he tried to breathe evenly.

โ€œIs he still at it?โ€ Ottai asked with dread as he approached.

Vladya didnโ€™t answer, knowing Ottaiโ€™s sensitive hearing could provide the answer. Ottai paled. โ€œItโ€™s been three hours.โ€

Three hours? Vladya glanced at the far window. The sun had indeed set.

โ€œHer screams have stopped. What if sheโ€™sโ€ฆโ€ Ottai trailed off, swallowing hard. He suddenly looked every bit his three thousand years.

โ€œSheโ€™s not dead. Just lost consciousness again.โ€

โ€œHow can you tell?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m older, and Iโ€™m the one descending into madness soon; my hearing is off the charts.โ€ Then, with a bitter chuckle, he added, โ€œAlthough the madness partโ€ฆit seems Daemonikai beats me to it yet again.โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t even joke about it, the Grand King is NOT feral again,โ€ Ottai hissed, sitting beside him. โ€œHe is not!โ€

Vladya remained silent, knowing that beneath Ottaiโ€™s anger lay fear and uncertainty. Ottai was trying to convince himself.

โ€œHow could this happen?โ€ Ottai palmed his face, his voice breaking. โ€œHe found happiness again. He was truly happy. Feral symptoms show when one has no joy, no colors left in their world. Or when something sudden and tragic shoves them into it. Daemonikai experienced none of these things. So howโ€ฆhow could he lose his mind again?โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t know, Tee. I really donโ€™t,โ€ Vladya said hoarsely. โ€œMy theory isโ€ฆmaybe he never truly healed from it.โ€

โ€œWhat if itโ€™s dark magic?โ€ Ottai said. โ€œWhat if someone did this to him?โ€

Vladya shook his head, not knowing what to say. At this point, it could be anything.

Ottai spoke again. โ€œBut dark magic leaves traces, right?โ€

โ€œIt does. If it were dark magic, a huge sacrifice or exchange must be involved for a ritual of this magnitude. Death would be involved.โ€ Vladya looked away. โ€œSo far, we have not heard anything.โ€

โ€œI pray she remains out for long,โ€ Ottai shook his head, staring at the closed door. โ€œVladya, she is not even in heat. Emeriel does not have the hormonal boost to help with her sexual appetite, stamina, or bodily fluids!โ€

Inside the chamber, a femaleโ€™s pained cry was heard.

โ€œSheโ€™s awake again,โ€ Ottai winced. โ€œUkrae, that poor girl is awake againโ€ฆโ€

Emerielโ€™s screams began anew, cutting through the nightโ€™s quietness like thunderโ€”loud, broken, raw.

Vladya pressed his palm against his throbbing head. It was going to be a long, dark night, one he had no idea how it would end.
