Chapter 50

Andrew calmly stated, โ€œThis isnโ€™t just local wine; no winery could produce it.โ€

His statement angered Irene, who barked, โ€œAndrew, would it kill you to stop bragging? If itโ€™s not local, what is itโ€”some mythical elixir?โ€

โ€œActually, yes,โ€ Andrew replied, causing the Stevens family to freeze before erupting in laughter. They thought he was making a fool of himself. Even Harvey smirked, insulted that Andrew would dare compare himself to him.

Douglas gently patted Andrewโ€™s shoulder. โ€œAndy, even if our wine isnโ€™t the best, thereโ€™s no need to compete. Remember, if youโ€™re truly exceptional, others will naturally recognize it.โ€

Andrew nodded. โ€œWise words, Mr. Stevens Senior. Iโ€™ll keep them in mind.โ€

Christina shook her head, thinking how pathetic Andrew was for not understanding her grandfather's subtle hint.

โ€œWell, well, it looks like the partyโ€™s started without me!โ€ a new voice announced.

It was Gerald Stevens, Douglasโ€™s brother, an antique dealer in Chetvine, the capital city.

Douglas smiled. โ€œGerald, perfect timing! Join us for a drink. We have plenty of fine wines tonight!โ€

Irene interjected, โ€œUncle Gerald appreciates only the finest wine. Iโ€™m sure heโ€™ll love what Harvey brought.โ€

Leroy poured wine for Gerald, saying, โ€œUncle Gerald, this is a 50-year-old wine from Harvey. Please try it!โ€

Geraldโ€™s face lit up. โ€œWhat a treat! Donโ€™t mind if I do!โ€

He was about to reach for it when he spotted the wine before Douglas. His expression changed dramatically as he snatched Andrewโ€™s wine instead, leaving everyone stunned.

Irene cried out, โ€œUncle Gerald, donโ€™t! Thatโ€™s cheapโ€”put it down!โ€

Gerald inhaled the wineโ€™s aroma, ignoring Irene. Then, he gulped the entire glass down. His face showed pure bliss as he exclaimed, โ€œI never imagined Iโ€™d find this divine nectar in Jayrodale! Where did you get this incredible wine? Iโ€™ll pay 750 thousand dollars for whateverโ€™s left, bottle and all!โ€

The entire Stevens family, including Harvey, sat speechless.

Gerald urged them on. โ€œWell, what are you waiting for? Get me the rest! Do you even know what this is? Itโ€™s literally liquid gold!โ€

The family was dumbfounded.

Desperate to make sense of it, Irene protested, โ€œUncle Gerald, are you drunk? This is garbage, not liquid gold!โ€

Gerald scowled. โ€œSuch ignorance! Iโ€™ve lived in Chetvine for years! Do you think you know better than me? I once tasted half a glass of this at a noble familyโ€™s home there, and Iโ€™ve never forgotten it!โ€

The family turned to Andrew, who remained composed. โ€œThis wine lives up to its name as Divine Elixir. And yes, it does have connections to Chetvine.โ€

Gerald nodded approvingly. โ€œWell said. You seem to be the only knowledgeable one here. I assume youโ€™re the one who brought this wine?โ€
