Chapter 291

Andrew frowned at the arrogant woman before him. Though attractive, her superior attitude was unbearable.

Dylan asked, surprised, โ€œI presume this is Aspen Stevens of the Bridgefields Stevens family?โ€

Aspen smiled condescendingly. โ€œMr. Garner, Iโ€™m surprised you know me. I didnโ€™t realize my reputation extended so far into Jayrodale.โ€

โ€œYou are indeed known for your business acumen and martial arts skills,โ€ Dylan said coldly. โ€œHowever, this is Jayrodale, not Bridgefields, and such an attitude may not serve you well here.โ€

Aspen responded confidently, โ€œMr. Garner, you should worry about yourself. I hear South City is about to fall to Mr. Giordano from the Northern District. Conveniently, I have a good relationship with Mr. Giordano. If you ask nicely, I might put in a good word for South City.โ€

Dylan scoffed. โ€œWho do you think you are? Even with your capabilities, youโ€™re an outsider, and Jayrodaleโ€™s underground affairs donโ€™t need your interference.โ€

Aspenโ€™s eyes narrowed. โ€œNo wonder youโ€™ve amounted to nothing. Instead of managing South City, youโ€™re here defending some kept man. Donโ€™t you think thatโ€™s beneath your position?โ€

Dylan was furious at her disrespect toward Andrew.

โ€œLetโ€™s handle our business. Thereโ€™s no need to stoop to their level,โ€ Andrew said calmly.

Dylan laughed. โ€œYouโ€™re right, Mr. Lloyd, although that barb stung. A bitchโ€™s bite is the worst, you know.โ€

โ€œWhat did you just say?โ€ Aspenโ€™s face froze.

Christinaโ€™s expression changed. โ€œAndrew, that was too far! Apologize to Aspen, and Iโ€™ll ensure she drops this.โ€

โ€œApologize? For what?โ€ Andrew replied wryly. โ€œIf I recall, your dear Aspen started this.โ€

Christina gritted her teeth. โ€œAspenโ€™s outspoken, but she meant no harm. Is that how you speak to a woman?โ€

โ€œChristie, donโ€™t waste your breath on such crude people,โ€ Aspen interrupted with a cold laugh. Turning to Andrew, she continued, โ€œI heard you helped the Stevens family against the Weller family. Christie couldnโ€™t stop praising you, and I thought you had potential. I even considered that, if you proved worthy, you and Christie getting back together wouldn't be so bad. But now I see youโ€™re just a manipulative opportunist.โ€

โ€œWhat kind of person I am isnโ€™t your concern,โ€ Andrew shrugged. โ€œAnd are all Stevens this dense? Who told you I wanted to get back with Christina?โ€

Aspen sneered. โ€œOh, you didnโ€™t? Then why go to such lengths to involve Mr. Stevens Senior?โ€

โ€œWhen did I approach Mr. Stevens Senior?โ€ Andrew asked, frowning.

โ€œStill denying it?โ€ Aspen crossed her arms. โ€œChristie might be naive, but Iโ€™m not easily fooled.โ€
