Chapter 1056 Persistent Pursuit
Little Bunny pushed him away. He stumbled back, staring in surprise. Her disgust was palpable. She saw the anger in Theodore's eyes, anticipating his upset, but she refused to submit to his control again after their divorce. Further entanglements were unthinkable. Only his power prevented her from declaring outright hatred.
They stood silently for a long time before Theodore broke the silence, threatening coldly, "Little Bunny, don't push your luck."
She struggled to convey her utter dislikeโof him, his power, his moneyโeverything. It wasn't pretense. Calming herself, she said, "Theodore, we're divorced. Can't we move on?"
Theodore's eyes narrowed.
"We married because of Nicholas; there was no love then, or now. I have no feelings for you. Believe it or not, I only wanted sex that timeโI was drugged. Another man would have done just as well. Please, let me go."
"Little Bunny, don't get too caught up in a role. It won't help."
"It's not an act. I'm telling the truth," she insisted. "Mr. Wold, if you don't believe me now, wait and see! I swear I will never seek reconciliation. May lightning strike me dead if I break that promise!"
Little Bunny made her feelings undeniably clear. She anticipated his fury, but she craved closure. She refused to be bound to him. She had her life, her ambitions, and the possibility of future happiness. She wouldn't be trapped by him, regardless of his wealth. She simply wasn't interested.
Theodore was indeed irritated. Little Bunny's finality enraged him. But Theodore didn't give up easily. Her rejection only fueled his determination to make her regret her words.
"Little Bunny, I've never cared for a woman like this before, nor tolerated one."
Little Bunny bit her lip. She didn't want to be unique in his eyes, or hold a special place in his heart.
"The one I set my sights on will never get away!" Theodore emphasized, leaving no room for doubt. Rejection was futile.
Little Bunny's eyes reddened with anger, overwhelmed by her emotions.
Why did she have to encounter such a man? He couldn't accept being rejected.
She bit her lip, striving for control, refusing to show weakness. She wouldn't surrender easily.
She turned without a word. Theodore instinctively reached out, but clenched his fist instead, knowing she couldn't escape. He wasn't in the mood for comforting her.
Leaving his room, Little Bunny couldn't conceal her anger. She hadn't realized she could hate someone so intensely. The thought of him filled her with dread, a sense of impending doom.
She soothed herself on the way to the filming location. Taking a deep breath, she masked her feelings with a smile, approaching the director who was shooting Addison's kissing scene.
She apologized, smiling. "Let me handle it, it was a misunderstanding."
"A misunderstanding?!" The director scoffed. "Mr. Wold came to take you away, everyone saw. How is that a misunderstanding? Your connections are powerful; you should have told me."
Despite his sarcasm, she persisted, "I've made things clear with Mr. Wold."
"But I wouldn't dare offend him," the director retorted, turning away. "Why don't you rest? If we finish late and something happens againโฆ"
Disappointed, she wanted to explain further, but the director left without listening.
Distraught, she'd never had such conflicts before. She'd offended the most influential director, essentially half the industry, because of Theodore.
"Miss Little Bunny," Tanya hurried over, having only approached after contacting their manager for instructions after witnessing Theodore taking her away.
Little Bunny snapped out of her thoughts. "Help me remove my makeup, please." There would be no filming tonight. The director's concern earlier, despite the long day, was appreciated.
But she was still furious. Theodore had ruined everything.
Tanya nodded. "Okay, we're done anyway."
They walked towards the makeup room, where they overheard voices from the next room.
"No wonder Little Bunny's so popularโTheodore's her bank. What a big name; he could control the whole industry," a woman said sarcastically.
"I never guessed. She always seemed humble, but it's all an act. Creepy," another echoed.
