Revenge Forged in Prison

Chapter 134: I Know Everything

Deborah found herself at a loss for words, her voice gradually fading.

“I really didn’t have the time…”

Gianna disregarded her, stepping outside to bring in the flowers. Then she went back, returning with the breakfast she had bought. At that moment, she could only use one hand. The flowers had been delivered to the hospital room door as she had instructed; only the breakfast was something she had brought back herself.

Placing the flowers on the windowsill, Gianna strenuously opened the plastic bag and began to eat the bun inside. Given her current state, eating anything was a struggle. Therefore, something like a bun, which could be held in one hand, made eating less strenuous.

Seeing Gianna struggle to eat, Deborah felt a lump form in her throat, leaving her feeling suffocated and anxious. She had assumed that Gianna’s left hand wasn’t hurt too badly and hadn’t expected its condition to be so severe. With that, Deborah lowered her head in guilt.

Despite her left hand being almost immobile, Gianna still stayed in the hospital, watching over Caleb throughout the night. Despite being considered Caleb’s kin, they showed no concern whatsoever for his well-being. However, she simply had no other choice. Caleb had hurt Jesse, landing the latter in the hospital. If his heart wasn’t donated to Jesse for treatment, the latter would never recover. An eye for an eye, it was only fair.

“Mom, why are you explaining all this to her? Ms. Sherman is protected by her father, allowing her to live a life of luxury, but we ordinary folks are different. Our daily tasks are overwhelming. Sometimes, we’re so busy that we don’t even have time to eat, let alone visit someone in the hospital.”

Yelena simply walked in without knocking, causing Deborah to give Gianna an awkward glance.

“Gia, don’t be upset. My daughter just has a habit of speaking her mind; she tends to say whatever comes to her. She was only being harsh to you because she cares about me. Don’t take it to heart.”

Gianna, however, ignored Deborah. Instead, she spoke with a hint of sarcasm to Yelena. “Ms. Quixall, didn’t you say you were too busy to spare any time? Why do you have time to argue with me now?”

Now that Caleb was back, only to be sent to the hospital by them, she found no reason to hold back anymore. Since Yelena was determined to attack her, there was absolutely no reason for her to back down. Yelena was immediately stumped for words. She was already feeling uneasy when she saw Caleb lying on the hospital bed. Gianna’s retort only served to upset her further.

“So what if I want to argue with you? Are you going to cripple my hands too, just like what you did to Raquel?”

Frustrated, Yelena took several steps forward, finding herself in a tense standoff with Gianna. The latter locked eyes with her for quite some time before she suddenly let out a scoff.

“Ms. Quixall, given how powerful you are, I wouldn’t dare lay a finger on you. If I upset you, I might just end up hit by a rogue car, spending the rest of my life bedridden, just like a vegetable.”

Yelena flew into a rage.

“Gianna, what are you trying to say? Are you accusing me of running Caleb down?”

Gianna responded with a subtle smile, not uttering a word. Yet, anyone who wasn’t a fool could read between the lines. Instinctively, Yelena wanted to strike Gianna, but as soon as her hand was raised, it was firmly seized by the latter.

“Let go!”

“Heh… asking me to let go? I should be asking you to show me mercy.” Gianna gave a gentle smile, whispering into Yelena’s ear. “Yelena, I know everything you’ve done.”
