Chapter 120: I Can Save Him

Gianna’s entire body tensed. Chelsea came from true aristocratic lineage, while Caleb was merely a lowly, disgraced fake heir from an influential family. By all rights, their worlds should never intersect—so why was Chelsea seeking him out now? A sense of foreboding gripped Gianna.

“Ms. Sherman, there’s no need for such wariness,” Chelsea said with a polite smile. “My visit isn’t malicious. In fact, I may be his savior.”

Gianna didn’t buy it for a second. With their vastly different statuses, what possible good could Chelsea’s sudden appearance bring?

“Ms. Sherman, how close are you to Mr. Quixall to be screening his visitors personally now?”

Chelsea’s smile remained, yet her words carried a piercing sting. Gianna experienced a moment of awkwardness. She refused to show weakness and spoke up again. “Save your trip, Ms. Yardley. Caleb isn’t home. He will never come back.”

Chelsea arched a brow, intent on seeking a clear explanation. However, the look of despondency on Gianna’s face made it impossible for her to broach the subject.

“Another time, then.”

Her tall figure reached the corner, about to vanish any second. At that moment, a spark of inspiration suddenly flashed in Chelsea’s mind. She quickly chased after her, calling out loudly, “Ms. Yardley, please wait!”

At that moment, she could no longer concern herself with the manners and etiquette expected of an heiress from a prestigious family. Everything else could wait when a life is at stake.

Chelsea hadn’t expected Gianna to call out to her and was puzzled. She stopped in her tracks. “What is it, Ms. Sherman? Didn’t you say Mr. Caleb isn’t at home?”

Gianna panted heavily. “Yes, he’s not home. He got hit by a car and is fighting for his life at the hospital!”

Chelsea could barely hide her surprise. “What’s going on?” She did feel a bit of regret. Though they’d met only once, she had a favorable impression of Caleb. He was brave and strategic, daring to take responsibility. If he were to die, she would have felt a certain joy missing from her life.

Gianna’s tears spilled over. “We don’t know who did it. The car hit him nearby. The area’s surveillance cameras were all disabled, so the police are still investigating.”

Chelsea processed this. “Never mind that. What’s Mr. Quixall’s current condition?”

“He had lost too much blood, and the blood bank lacks compatible reserves, so they aren’t able to provide blood for his blood transfusion.”

Gianna’s voice broke. She couldn’t hold back her tears any longer. Too much time had already been wasted since she arrived at the… I wonder if Caleb’s condition has improved…

“Does he have Rh-negative blood type?”

“What?”

Gianna blinked, stunned.

Chelsea sighed. “If he has Rh-negative blood, I can donate.”

For a moment, Gianna’s mind went blank. She hadn’t expected to be surprised. Phillip had mentioned only Raquel shared Caleb’s blood type. This was just too unexpected! It seemed that Phillip didn’t disclose the news to her as he thought the Yardley family would not agree to her request.

“Thank you so much, Ms. Yardley! If he lives, I’ll do anything you ask of me!”
