Chapter 440 Unyielding (64% Finished)

The nearby onlookers, having heard this, were curious. "That Madelyn woman is here? Where?" Everyone immediately searched for Madelyn in the crowd.

Jillian was overjoyed. Without delay, she pulled Madelyn out and introduced her. "Hello everyone, this is Madelyn, the lady this sea of flowers is for!" A chorus of "Wow!"s erupted, and everyone looked at Madelyn with envy.

Madelyn, still shocked, felt embarrassed. She hastily grabbed Jillian's hand. "Jillian, could there be a mistake? Let's go. What if it wasn't for me? How embarrassing!" She prepared to pull Jillian away.

Just then, a man's voice echoed, "Madelyn, this is for you." Sebastian arrived, causing a chorus of screams from the women in the crowd. He was exceptionally handsome and charming in his grey and white casual outfit. His noble demeanor overshadowed everything mundane; he seemed extraordinary. For a moment, everyone was captivated.

The crowd parted, creating space. Braving the falling snow, Sebastian approached Madelyn. "Why are you here?" she asked, utterly stupefied by this seemingly divine man. She never imagined he orchestrated this romantic gesture.

The romance caught her off guard. "You didn't expect it to be me, did you?" Sebastian asked, faintly smiling at her bewildered expression. "Ah, he's too handsome! I can't handle it..." some women swooned. His faint smile was irresistible.

After a moment, Madelyn regained her composure. "What... what are you doing?" she asked. With flowers and snowfall, could it be more romantic?

"Giving you a surprise," Sebastian said lightly, looking at her with confusion. "Don't you like it?" Madelyn frantically shook her head. "How could I not? I just... I just feel it's too sudden." Such a sudden surprise was indeed overwhelming.

Shocked and elated, tears welled in her eyes. "Can I... can I take this as your proposal?" she asked. "What do you think?" he replied.

Sebastian chuckled and pulled out a small, deep purple gift boxโ€”a ring box. Madelyn was on the verge of tears. The spectators watched with unabashed envy.

He opened the box. "This is for you. Can you stop being mad at me, please?" Overwhelmed, tears streamed down Madelyn's face. Smiling through her tears, she asked, "So this isn't a proposal; you're just asking for forgiveness?"

Sebastian laughed and caressed her face. "Consider this my apology. Proposing isn't something to be rushed." Madelyn nodded vigorously. "Okay."

Seeing her calm, Sebastian's mood lightened. He took her hand. "All right, let's go home." Madelyn nodded.

Under everyone's gaze, Sebastian led Madelyn to a high-end sports car, departing in a flamboyant and romantic manner. The crowd watched with envy. "Wow, that man is so handsome! That woman is so incredibly lucky!" "Yeah, if only I were that woman!"

Jillian smiled radiantly, more joyful than if it were her own happiness. "Madelyn, you must find happiness!" With that silent blessing, she left.

In the car, Sebastian drove with Madelyn as his passenger, heading home. Suddenly, Madelyn remembered something. "Right, you apologized, but you haven't explained yourself yet. Why did you go on a business trip with Harriet without telling me?"

Sebastian was surprised. Madelyn was still pondering, leaving him exasperated. He chuckled. "It wasn't just Harriet. Wesley and several other project managers were there. Honestly, there's nothing between me and her. Besides, do you still not know my feelings for you?"

Sebastian fixed his gaze on Madelyn, earnestly conveying, "You're the only one in my eyes, the only one in my heart." Madelyn felt embarrassed under his deep affection.

She admitted, "I know you have no interest in Harriet, but you must have noticed her feelings all these years, right?" She complained, "Although her love is unrequited, letting it fester isn't the solution."

What if Harriet persistently pursued Sebastian? If things continued, could they ever find peace? "Wesley," Madelyn continued, "wouldn't it be better for them to be together, not just for their own sake, but for all of us?"

Upon hearing this, Sebastian furrowed his brow.
