Chapter 427: Have a Way to Deal With Her

โ€œSir, Centaurion Tower, please,โ€ Madelyn told the taxi driver after settling in.

โ€œMadelyn, where are you going?โ€ Jillian asked, her expression puzzled.

Madelyn chuckled. โ€œJust wait. Youโ€™ll find out soon enough.โ€

She then took out her phone and typed a message: Meet me at Centaurion Tower in ten minutes. She sent it to Cheryl.

Ten minutes later, Madelyn and Jillian exited the taxi at the Centaurion Tower plaza. A black car pulled up, and Cheryl emerged.

โ€œMs. Thornton,โ€ Cheryl said, approaching Madelyn. Noticing Jillian, she asked, โ€œWho is this?โ€

โ€œThis is my best friend, Jillian Lynch. I brought her for company,โ€ Madelyn chuckled. โ€œBut I must say, youโ€™re quite fast.โ€

โ€œBut of course,โ€ Cheryl replied, then sighed. โ€œJanessa has stripped me of my position at the company. I have nothing to do, and my father is unconscious in the hospital. My mother and I are powerless against Janessa; sheโ€™s incredibly smug.โ€

Cheryl seethed at the thought of Janessaโ€™s triumph, feeling helpless to counter her.

Madelyn smiled calmly. โ€œDonโ€™t worry. She wonโ€™t be smug for long. I have a way to deal with her.โ€

โ€œWhat is it?โ€ Cheryl and Jillian both stared intently at Madelyn.

Madelyn flashed a bright smile, tapping each of their foreheads. โ€œFollow me, and youโ€™ll know.โ€

Madelyn led them into the tallest building in Centaurion Tower. She had last visited half a year ago, seeking Ivyโ€™s help to prove Jillianโ€™s innocenceโ€”and now needed her assistance again. Ivy was the chief editor of City Express News, Yadielโ€™s sister, and a childhood friend.

News reports in reputable media outlets generally undergo verification. A published work's dissemination is significantly broader than that of, say, a word-of-mouth account.

Madelyn quickly located the media agency and found Ivy. She was as alluring as ever, though this time her curls were styled differently. Having removed her professional suit, her white form-fitting dress highlighted her figure. Even in her ten-centimeter heels, she moved with ease.

โ€œItโ€™s been a while, Madelyn,โ€ Ivy said, hugging her.

โ€œItโ€™s been a while, beautiful Ivy. Iโ€™m here to bother you again,โ€ Madelyn said with a hearty laugh.

Ivy laughed, waving a hand nonchalantly. โ€œDonโ€™t say that. What is it? But who are the two ladies behind you?โ€

Ivy looked at Jillian and Cheryl.

Madelyn chuckled. โ€œTheyโ€™re my friends. Iโ€™ll introduce you later. For now, shall we find a place to sit and talk?โ€

โ€œSure thing,โ€ Ivy agreed. The four women left together, their striking beauty drawing admiring glances.

They found a coffee shop and sat down.

โ€œWith us all here, we have enough for a poker game, huh?โ€ Ivy began, breaking the initial silence with a lighthearted remark.

The others laughed, easing the tension. Madelyn introduced them before getting down to business.

โ€œIvy, working in media, you must be aware of the buzz surrounding the Sherritt family lately, right?โ€ Madelyn asked.

โ€œOf course,โ€ Ivy smiled and nodded. โ€œDidnโ€™t Janessa claim to be an up-and-comer? I was amused.โ€

Madelyn laughed. โ€œYouโ€™re truly brilliant.โ€ Then she said, โ€œTo be honest, sheโ€™s my enemyโ€”no, more accurately, our shared enemy.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s right,โ€ Cheryl confirmed.

Jillian, though silent, clearly remembered Janessaโ€™s past malice.

Madelyn declared, โ€œIvy, I want you to help bring her down!โ€

Ivy looked puzzled. โ€œHow? Iโ€™m a chief editor, versed in journalism. If youโ€™re asking me to join a revenge squad, Iโ€™m not interested.โ€

Madelyn burst into laughter. โ€œWhat revenge squad? I just need you to help report some news. Janessa may seem respectable, but sheโ€™s committed countless wrongdoings. We need your help exposing her.โ€

โ€œOh, I see,โ€ Ivy said, relieved. She readily agreed. โ€œSure. Whatโ€™s the scoop? Tell me, and Iโ€™ll see if I can help.โ€

โ€œOkay! You can definitely help!โ€ Madelyn nodded happily. She turned to Cheryl. โ€œCheryl, tell us about your fatherโ€™s situation.โ€

Cheryl recounted everything, leaving nothing out. Ivy was shocked.

โ€œIn other words, Janessa harmed your father and forged a fake will to seize his assets?โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s correct,โ€ Cheryl affirmed.

โ€œThis is serious. Do you have any evidence?โ€ Ivy asked urgently.

Cheryl sighed. โ€œIf I had evidence, I wouldnโ€™t be in this situation.โ€

Madelyn understood but offered comfort. โ€œDonโ€™t worry. Iโ€™ll help you.โ€
