Chapter 427: Have a Way to Deal With Her
โSir, Centaurion Tower, please,โ Madelyn told the taxi driver after settling in.
โMadelyn, where are you going?โ Jillian asked, her expression puzzled.
Madelyn chuckled. โJust wait. Youโll find out soon enough.โ
She then took out her phone and typed a message: Meet me at Centaurion Tower in ten minutes. She sent it to Cheryl.
Ten minutes later, Madelyn and Jillian exited the taxi at the Centaurion Tower plaza. A black car pulled up, and Cheryl emerged.
โMs. Thornton,โ Cheryl said, approaching Madelyn. Noticing Jillian, she asked, โWho is this?โ
โThis is my best friend, Jillian Lynch. I brought her for company,โ Madelyn chuckled. โBut I must say, youโre quite fast.โ
โBut of course,โ Cheryl replied, then sighed. โJanessa has stripped me of my position at the company. I have nothing to do, and my father is unconscious in the hospital. My mother and I are powerless against Janessa; sheโs incredibly smug.โ
Cheryl seethed at the thought of Janessaโs triumph, feeling helpless to counter her.
Madelyn smiled calmly. โDonโt worry. She wonโt be smug for long. I have a way to deal with her.โ
โWhat is it?โ Cheryl and Jillian both stared intently at Madelyn.
Madelyn flashed a bright smile, tapping each of their foreheads. โFollow me, and youโll know.โ
Madelyn led them into the tallest building in Centaurion Tower. She had last visited half a year ago, seeking Ivyโs help to prove Jillianโs innocenceโand now needed her assistance again. Ivy was the chief editor of City Express News, Yadielโs sister, and a childhood friend.
Chapter 477: Have a Way to Deal With Her
News reports in reputable media outlets generally undergo verification. A published work's dissemination is significantly broader than that of, say, a word-of-mouth account.
Madelyn quickly located the media agency and found Ivy. She was as alluring as ever, though this time her curls were styled differently. Having removed her professional suit, her white form-fitting dress highlighted her figure. Even in her ten-centimeter heels, she moved with ease.
โItโs been a while, Madelyn,โ Ivy said, hugging her.
โItโs been a while, beautiful Ivy. Iโm here to bother you again,โ Madelyn said with a hearty laugh.
Ivy laughed, waving a hand nonchalantly. โDonโt say that. What is it? But who are the two ladies behind you?โ
Ivy looked at Jillian and Cheryl.
Madelyn chuckled. โTheyโre my friends. Iโll introduce you later. For now, shall we find a place to sit and talk?โ
โSure thing,โ Ivy agreed. The four women left together, their striking beauty drawing admiring glances.
They found a coffee shop and sat down.
โWith us all here, we have enough for a poker game, huh?โ Ivy began, breaking the initial silence with a lighthearted remark.
The others laughed, easing the tension. Madelyn introduced them before getting down to business.
โIvy, working in media, you must be aware of the buzz surrounding the Sherritt family lately, right?โ Madelyn asked.
โOf course,โ Ivy smiled and nodded. โDidnโt Janessa claim to be an up-and-comer? I was amused.โ
Madelyn laughed. โYouโre truly brilliant.โ Then she said, โTo be honest, sheโs my enemyโno, more accurately, our shared enemy.โ
โThatโs right,โ Cheryl confirmed.
Jillian, though silent, clearly remembered Janessaโs past malice.
Madelyn declared, โIvy, I want you to help bring her down!โ
Ivy looked puzzled. โHow? Iโm a chief editor, versed in journalism. If youโre asking me to join a revenge squad, Iโm not interested.โ
Madelyn burst into laughter. โWhat revenge squad? I just need you to help report some news. Janessa may seem respectable, but sheโs committed countless wrongdoings. We need your help exposing her.โ
โOh, I see,โ Ivy said, relieved. She readily agreed. โSure. Whatโs the scoop? Tell me, and Iโll see if I can help.โ
โOkay! You can definitely help!โ Madelyn nodded happily. She turned to Cheryl. โCheryl, tell us about your fatherโs situation.โ
Cheryl recounted everything, leaving nothing out. Ivy was shocked.
โIn other words, Janessa harmed your father and forged a fake will to seize his assets?โ
โThatโs correct,โ Cheryl affirmed.
โThis is serious. Do you have any evidence?โ Ivy asked urgently.
Cheryl sighed. โIf I had evidence, I wouldnโt be in this situation.โ
Madelyn understood but offered comfort. โDonโt worry. Iโll help you.โ
