Chapter 367: Get Out Immediately
โHow come you called? Is there something going on?โ Eunice asked cautiously, constantly scanning her surroundings, terrified someone might overhear her conversation with Janessa.
โYour sister has been quite the troublemaker recently, meddling in my affairs. I think she needs a lesson,โ Janessa said with a chuckle.
Upon hearing this, Eunice immediately understood. Janessa sought her help because Madelyn had upset her. Hence, she asked straightforwardly, โSo, what exactly do you need my help with, Ms. Sherritt?โ
Janessa laughed. โMs. Thornton, you're truly clever! You already know why Iโm calling. I wonโt beat around the bush.โ
Janessa then stated her intentions clearly. โAll I want is a small favor. Discreetly share information about the Thornton familyโs company, specifically Madelynโs current project.โ
Eunice nodded. However, she wasnโt foolish; she wouldnโt be used without something in return. Therefore, she asked, โI can provide this information, but what exactly is your intention?โ
Janessa chuckled. โYouโll find out soon enough.โ
โFine,โ Eunice said, somewhat at a loss for words. Then, cautiously, she added, โI can give you the information, but you must assure me I wonโt be involved.โ
Janessa smiled joyfully. โDonโt worry. Thereโs absolutely no downside for you.โ
โThatโs good, then,โ Eunice agreed. They ended the call.
Eunice immediately went to the project department. Under the guise of reviewing recent work, she tracked and familiarized herself with all of Madelynโs projects.
Madelyn was handling three projects: one nearing completion, another in early collaboration discussions, and one in production with a well-known major company.
A sly grin tugged at Euniceโs mouth. Why donโt we start with this project? She then relayed the projectโs status to Janessa.
Janessa was pleased and relayed the situation to Kieran, advising him on the next steps. Kieran immediately took action.
Two hours later, a man arrived at a large pharmaceutical manufacturing factory on the outskirts of TOWIL. The factory, exclusively for pharmaceutical production, had workers clad in identical dust-proof suits to maintain hygiene. The production process, carried out in stages and almost entirely by machine, inspired great confidence in product quality.
Then, a man in extraordinary attireโa flamboyant red outfitโsuddenly entered. He stood tall, with the naive appearance of a young man, yet possessed an undeniable air of mischief.
The factory manager, overseeing the work process, hardened his expression and strode toward the man. โWhere did you come from, you weirdo? Get out immediately!โ
Kieran was taken aback. Weirdo? My outfit is so trendy! he thought. This is preposterous! He shouted at the manager, โGet your manager out here now!โ
The manager was perplexed. โYouโre looking for me?โ
Kieran glared. โAre you the manager? You wretch, do you know who I am? Iโm Kieran Jiminez of Jiminez Corporation!โ
โWhat? Youโre Mr. Jiminez?โ The manager was shocked. In reality, the managerโs father was a Jiminez Corporation employee, which explained Kieran's presence.
Kieran thought, I didnโt expect him to call me a weirdo. Is he courting death?
The manager profusely apologized. โIโm so sorry, Mr. Jiminez. I spoke out of turn. I hope you can forgive my rudeness.โ
Kieran was furious, almost ready to throw a punch, but considering the onlookers, he swallowed his anger. He ordered, โCome here. I have something to instruct you on.โ
The manager obeyed.
The following day, after school, Madelyn went to Thornton Corporation. Upon arrival, she saw her fatherโs assistant, Cyrus, approaching with a troubled expression. โMs. Madelyn, Mr. Thornton is asking for you.โ
โOkay,โ Madelyn nodded nonchalantly.
Cyrus pulled her back. โHold on. Mr. Thornton was furious earlier, so tread carefully.โ
โWhatโs going on?โ Madelyn asked, looking bewildered.
Cyrus helplessly shook his head. โYou should go see for yourself.โ He turned and walked away.
Madelyn, left with no choice, went to her fatherโs office. โDad, were you looking for me?โ she asked habitually.
She was taken aback by Derekโs incredibly gloomy, almost terrifying expression. Something significant had happened; his entire aura had changed.
โDad, what happened?โ Madelyn asked, her heart skipping a beat.
Derek shook his head, placing a newspaper before her. โMadelyn, take a look for yourself.โ
Madelyn, bewildered, picked up the newspaper. Her eyes widened. โWhat happened?โ
The newspaper featured an article about a well-known pharmaceutical factory in the suburbs: Last night, an explosion due to a drug mixing error critically injured an employee. Negative online comments flooded in, expressing apprehension about using the factory's medicines. The article included shocking photos of the injured employee and the blood-stained ground.
โHow could this be?โ Madelyn was shocked. As far as she knew, the factory had been a reputable brand for decades, with experienced pharmacists and no prior issues.
