Chapter 369

Nick was stunned. Never in his wildest dreams did he expect Jennifer to say something like that. He stared at Jennifer with deep sorrow, thinking, "I shouldโ€™ve realized sooner that she is capable of anything."

He said, "Jennifer, is this the real you? Now that you have everything from the Tompson family, will you kick me out?"

Jennifer sneered, "It all depends on what you think. Just look at how awful your mom talks and acts. She even said Iโ€™m a liability. In her eyes, sons are always more valuable. That was why when you wanted to throw Natalie out as a baby, she didnโ€™t even blink. To her, only sons matter, and women like us are just burdens. She never realizes sheโ€™s a woman, too, and a burden herself."

Brendaโ€™s face turned as pale as a sheet. Her cloudy eyes were fixed on Jennifer. She thought, "She is as vicious as a snake; I have completely misjudged her."

Jennifer gave a cold smile and walked away.

Seeing the situation now, Nick regretted it. He missed Wendyโ€™s gentle and caring nature.

Brenda asked, "Nick, are you just going to let them push me around like this?"

Nick took a deep breath. With a self-mocking laugh, he said, "Mom, things arenโ€™t what they used to be in our family. My company has been sold, and I donโ€™t have much money left. Stop giving Rex money on your end. I donโ€™t have any to give you now, and even if you try to guilt-trip me, I canโ€™t provide any."

Nick looked at Brenda with a troubled expression and continued. "Mom, youโ€™ve given Rexโ€™s family a lot of money, and I donโ€™t think his wife is willing to take care of you. In the end, youโ€™ll be left with nothing. You should return home. Here, no one is looking after you. Iโ€™ve supported the entire Simpson family for over twenty years. Now, thereโ€™s nothing I can do. Do as you please. If you want money, youโ€™ll have to take my life."

Brenda was stunned, staring at Nick, who had given up. She was so angry she nearly fainted. Wendy held her in high regard, but now she was left with nothing. The fall from grace was incredibly painful.

She was well aware of what kind of person Rexโ€™s wife was. Ultimately, Wendy was the foolish yet dutiful daughter-in-law. But now it was all gone, and she truly regretted it.

She thought, "If Wendy is here, she wonโ€™t leave her homeless. No matter whether she has money or not. But I had spoken so harshly that she probably wouldnโ€™t take care of me anymore!"

Brenda blamed Nick, "You worthless fool, you gave up a great future for Camellia. Look at what your life has become now. I donโ€™t care how you do it, but you must give me 30 thousand monthly. I need to pay off Rexโ€™s debt."

Nick laughed bitterly and said, "Then why donโ€™t you go out and earn money to pay Rex back yourself? Iโ€™m doomed. If it werenโ€™t for Wendy and me all these years, you and Rex would still be digging dirt on that small plot of land."

Brenda said, "Youโ€ฆ youโ€™re my eldest son. How can you say such things to me?" She hadnโ€™t been this upset in years.

When the family had money, everyone was all smiles and warmth. Without money, it was really a mess.

Natalie ran after Easton and was pulled into the car by him. Easton drove straight home. Neither of them spoke all the way. Easton knew that Natalie was mad because he had threatened her.

During the drive... As he left the party, he needed a few moments...

They didn't speak.

Natalie had offended Derian who was very upset...who would eventually seek revenge on Natalie.

Eaton glanced at her in the rearview mirror. She sat with her delicate face blank, staring coldly out the window.

Easton thought. Snow is falling, and fog is thick. Other than people and cars, what is there to see? She acts as though there is something of interest out there. Why doesn't she say what she is thinking?

Forget it. Since she gets in the car without a fuss, I am not complaining about being a driver for her.

As they neared home, Easton warned Natalie, "Stay away from Murray from now on."

Hearing this, Natalie snapped back to reality. She said angrily. "Do you want to threaten me again! You got me to compromise by using James, but Murray and I have a business deal. You canโ€™t keep me locked up here forever. Easton, Iโ€™ve told you, thereโ€™s no future for us anymore. Your coldness and emotional neglect over the years have killed all my love for you. All your favoritism and selfishness have destroyed my true feelings. Even if I love someone else..."

Easton stopped the car and turned to Natalie. He looked at her and said, "Natalie, say that again if you dare." Natalie always managed to get Easton worked up easily. Sometimes he felt an impulse to hurt her.

Natalie replied, "What would you do if I said that again? Do you want to kick me out of the car again and make me walk home in the snow?"

Natalie let out a cold laugh, her sharp gaze locked on Easton. She said, "Youโ€™ve already done that three times. If you kick me out again tonight and I get sick, I wonโ€™t mind going down with you. Honestly, I have nothing left to lose. Iโ€™m living for revenge. Easton, try me if you donโ€™t believe me. People who arenโ€™t afraid of death can do anything."

Natalieโ€™s hatred peaked at this moment, and her words were extreme. She died in a winter in her last life. Ever since she had transported back, she was scared of winter.

Noticing Natalieโ€™s eyes full of hatred, Eastonโ€™s heart trembled hard. He thought, "I have made mistakes. I would make it up to her for the rest of my life. She must hate me to death."

Easton took a deep breath and said, "It was my fault before. I was blind and didnโ€™t see Jenniferโ€™s true colors. I wonโ€™t hurt you anymore. From now on, letโ€™s live happily together, like we did in the past couple of years."

Easton drove into the villa, but Natalie couldnโ€™t be bothered with him. She closed her eyes and stayed silent. Seeing Natalie like this, Easton felt helpless.

Natalie used to be lively, with a bright smile, but now she was all defensive around him.

Everything that had happened before was real. Natalie saved and took care of him for two years. But he believed Jennifer and mistreated Natalie.

When people were biased, they naturally supported those they cared about without question. Easton was also guilty of that foolishness.

Once the car was parked, Natalie opened the door and got out.

Seeing Natalie walk away, Easton felt lonely in the chilly wind. He remembered when he couldnโ€™t see, Natalie would push him outside for a walk and tell him jokes on snowy days like these.

Back then, he was so downhearted that he rarely noticed what she said. They lived happily together then, and she never hid the love in her eyes for him.

Now, her eyes were full of hatred, a strange, biting hatred that cut through him like a knife.

The more Easton thought about it, the more he couldnโ€™t accept it. He dashed after Natalie and caught up to her in the room. He grabbed her hand and pressed her against the wall.

He wrapped one arm around her waist and cupped the back of her head with the other, ensuring she couldnโ€™t get away. Then he leaned down and kissed her forcefully.
