Chapter 289

Luna sneered, giving him a look from head to toe. Declan’s appearance irritated her. Luna thought, “Is he here to act pitiful?”

Luna said, “Even if you want to meet Natalie, you need to ensure you stay alive first. The fate of Jason and Vance was tragic, and you’re next in line. I’m interested to see how your beloved sister Jennifer will orchestrate your demise. Get lost.”

Luna yelled angrily, causing Declan to step back in surprise.

Declan looked at Luna’s back and recalled Nick’s words.

Jennifer aimed to have all four brothers meet untimely deaths, poison their mom with drugs leading to Alzheimer’s, and commit her to a mental hospital.

This way, their grandparents wouldn’t withstand the pain of losing them, and ultimately, everything would seamlessly fall into Jennifer and Nick’s hands.

What a malicious plan. Natalie and Luna knew about Jennifer and Nick’s scheme. Meanwhile, they were in the dark, being used by Jennifer and Nick against their closest relatives.

“Jennifer, Nick, you’ve made our family enemies. You will pay the price,” Jasper’s eyes were full of intense malice.

“Jennifer, you won’t earn a single penny from her TV shows,” Declan announced.

Declan would make Jennifer regret what she had done and was even more curious to know how Jennifer planned to kill him. Jennifer came back today, so Declan decided to go home first and teach Nick a lesson.

Declan looked at the place where Natalie worked and remembered that she was the design director.

If Natalie came from an impoverished town, she wouldn’t become the design director. If she truly grew up in such a place, her racing skills wouldn’t surpass George’s.

There was only one possibility: Natalie was naturally talented, but they mercilessly suppressed and overshadowed her abilities.

Jennifer was a coward, fleeing abroad as soon as Easton encountered trouble. They wanted to latch onto Easton for their selfish reasons, yet blamed Natalie for taking Easton away.

Natalie married Easton for the sake of the Simpsons.

Declan came home and bumped into Jennifer.

Trying to cheer up his mom, Declan flashed his usual indulgent smile. “Our little princess Jennifer is back home.”

Jennifer glanced at Declan with a grin. “Declan, where have you been?” she asked, linking her arm around Declan’s.

Declan chuckled and said, “Just out exercising, trying to find work. Mom doesn’t want me anymore, and racing is off the table, so I am left with nothing.”

Declan asked, “Jennifer, you’re doing great these days. How about I work with you?”

Jennifer was surprised that Declan couldn’t even drive a race car now.

Jennifer thought, “You’re a total loser. Without money from your family to support your racing hobby, you can’t do anything. Now you depend on me to get by and listen to everything I say. It’s a shame because I already have plenty of loyal followers.”

“Declan, if you work with me, you’ll end up doing random tasks, like being my assistant or driver. Are you okay with that?” Jennifer joked.

Declan said, “Of course I am. Business has been difficult for the past two years, and Mom’s company is about to go under. All I want to do now is make money, or else I’ll be a burden to you.”

Jennifer chuckled, looking Declan over, and thought, “Worthless. Just drop dead. My brother’s coming back, and you loser can’t get in our way.”

Wendy’s plan didn’t work out, causing Jennifer to suffer a significant loss. But there was no turning back now.

Jennifer couldn’t turn back anymore because she couldn’t spend her entire life as the adopted daughter of the Simpson family. They needed to be a real family.

Jennifer said, “Declan, why don’t you be my driver?”

Jennifer thought about finding a chance to get rid of Declan.

Declan’s eyes twinkled as he laughed and said, “Jennifer, that’s great. I could be a driver.”

Jennifer looked at Declan with disdain and said, “Declan, did you ask Vance and Natalie for help? If it weren’t for Natalie and Tiana, Vance would have been married by now. Even if Khloe was once married, she’s still the woman Vance loves.”

Declan said, “Natalie and Tiana are really nosy.”

Declan knew that Vance was likely in trouble, and Jason, being disabled, was said to have quite a temper.

Declan said, “They said you know Khloe. As long as we can reach Khloe, we can find Vance. Jennifer, give me Khloe’s phone number. I’ll ask if Vance’s been with her.”

Jennifer explained with a smile. “Declan, after the wedding was ruined, Khloe got angry and left. She blocked all our contacts, so I don’t have her contact info anymore either.”

Vance had been dead, and Wendy didn’t know. Declan thought that was good news because it might provoke Wendy and the old geezers from the Tompson family.

Dear’s face darkened slightly. “Alright then.”

They went inside, and Nick had already returned.

Last night, Nick took some medicine and had sex with Camellia several times. It felt great then, but today Nick felt a bit off. His whole body was sore, and he was so exhausted he didn’t want to move.

“Dad, Jennifer’s back,” Declan suppressed his nausea while looking at Nick.

Nick was waiting for Jennifer to come back so they could discuss something important.

Nick had a feeling Wendy might have found something out and was using being busy with work as an excuse to never come.

Nick opened his eyes and looked at Jennifer with a kind smile. “Jennifer, you’re back. That’s great. Go to your room and wait for me. There’s something I need to talk to you about.”

Jennifer knew Nick wanted to discuss Wendy’s company. Seeing how weak Nick looked made Jennifer worried.

Jennifer asked, “Dad, what’s wrong with you? Are you feeling unwell?”

Nick shook his hand and said, “It’s nothing, and I didn’t sleep well last night.”

Nick slowly stood up when his phone suddenly rang. Seeing it was from Camellia, who had reignited his confidence last night, Nick quickly went upstairs to take the call.

Nick chuckled and asked, “Camellia, we just parted ways, and you’re already missing me?”

Camellia shrieked in distress. “Nick, help me.”
