Chapter 281

Wendy muttered, โ€œNatalieโ€ฆโ€

Natalie simply hung up the phone and blocked the number. She would never forgive her.

She closed her eyes and soon fell into a deep sleep.

Natalie would never desire the motherly love from Wendy again, nor did she need it.

Wendy was in the office, heartbroken as she realized Natalie had ended the call. She regretted the harsh words she had said to her daughter.

She felt she didnโ€™t deserve to be Natalieโ€™s mom; she had been worried that Natalie might embarrass her, and she had once been ashamed of Natalie.

Wendy was now in real pain because of the strained motherโ€“daughter bond.

Easton didnโ€™t leave after dinner.

He picked up the dishes, took them to the kitchen, washed his hands, and then went upstairs.

He saw Natalie going up to the second floor.

Easton pushed open Natalieโ€™s room. It was large and simple, with only a bed and a sofa, completely lacking any decoration.

Seeing Natalie in a deep sleep, he stepped in quietly. Her facial features were refined and delicate, much like Wendyโ€™s, but nothing like Nickโ€™s.

Easton sat beside her for a while before getting up and admiring the villaโ€™s intricate design.

The villaโ€™s structure was quite unique. He quietly opened the door and noticed the sign next door reading โ€œWardrobe Room.โ€

He pushed open the door, and what greeted his eyes was a neatly arranged cloakroom. He owned womenโ€™s clothing and was familiar with them, but the clothes in her cloakroom were all beautifully unique in style, definitely designs that couldnโ€™t be found elsewhere.

Easton realized that Natalie was a designer, and these clothes must have been her own creations.

It dawned on him that in the two years of marriage to Natalie, he had never bought her anything.

He finally understood just how wrong he had been.

He gave Jennifer an allowance of 1.5 million dollars a month, while his own wife had less than a housekeeper.

A housekeeper earned more than 3,000 dollars every month, but Natalie got nothing.

Easton shut his eyes, knowing he had been going too far, and vowed to make it up to Natalie later.

But now wasnโ€™t the right time; a hint of murderous intent flashed in his eyes.

He closed the door and went to the next room, which was labeled โ€œNatalieโ€™s Private Library.โ€

Easton was very curious. He pushed open the door and was shocked by the bookshelves inside. He couldnโ€™t believe there were so many booksโ€”it was like a small library.

Chapter 281

By the window, there was a white desk with three roses on it, giving a touch of vitality.

When Easton entered, he noticed that the books in the bookcase were all beautifully organized on the shelves and categorized by subjects such as design, medicine, finance, and many more.

By the window, there was a set of sofas on which sat a yellow teddy bear. Beside it was a very pretty little girl doll wearing a pink hat, holding a small bunny.

Easton thought it was adorable that Natalie liked these girly things.

He walked over and sat on the sofa, noticed a few books on the table, and in the middle, there was a plate of pistachios.

Natalie loved pistachios, but he claimed not to like them because shells were left everywhere. After he mentioned it once, Natalie never ate them at home again.

He frowned, realizing she had been way too accommodating to him.

He sat down and noticed a special notebook with a pink cover and a pen on top.

Upon opening it, he found several names written inside.

Jenniferโ€™s name was in the middle; he couldnโ€™t figure out why Natalie had written them down.

He turned to the next page and was completely shocked by what he saw: [Easton, Jennifer, Nick, Wendy, Jason, Vance, Declan, and Ricky, I will never want anything to do with you again in this life.]

Eastonโ€™s eyes widened; it was true that she really didnโ€™t want him anymore.

He sneered, looking at her neat handwriting, talking to himself, โ€œNatalie, do you think you can just say no and leave? You were the one who said you loved me, and now you say you donโ€™t? You and I will stay together till the end.โ€

Easton held the notebook tightly with both hands.

He wouldnโ€™t let her leave him.

He had driven away the only woman who truly loved him all because of that woman Jennifer.

Easton closed the notebook, his eyes filled with possessiveness.

He stood up, went to his car to get his clothes, and went straight to Natalieโ€™s bathroom.

After his shower, he came out in pajamas and lay right next to Natalie.

Natalieโ€™s bed smelled nice; it was soft, and the blanket was very light.

In comparison to his own bed, it was softer and cozier.

They had never shared a bed in their two years of marriage.

But this time, they finally shared the same bed.

Easton noticed she was in a deep sleep and realized she was exhausted.

Surprisingly, he found comfort in sharing a bed with her.

That night, their closeness brought no discomfort or resistance, but instead, a strange sense of fitting together quietly sprouted. Easton slept deeply without even dreaming.

The morning light shone in the next morning.

Natalie slowly opened her eyes and suddenly realized someone was beside her. She felt a little uneasy as a powerful arm was put around her waist.

Suddenly, she glanced over and saw an astoundingly handsome face.

His eyes were shut, and his long eyelashes looked delicate, each one clearly visible.

His sleeping face was stunning; the flawless structure of his face appeared even more delicate and elegant in his serene slumber, resembling a work of art that the heavens had painstakingly crafted.

Natalie was shocked, wondering if she had seen it wrong. โ€˜How did Easton end up in my bed? When did this jerk get into my bed?โ€™

โ€œEaston,โ€ Natalie sat up and shouted, ignoring her bodyโ€™s pain.

She was hit hard yesterday, and she was in pain all over today.

Easton was jolted awake by her angry voice. He glanced at her, noticing her flushed face, and frowned slightly. โ€œWhy are you yelling so early in the morning?โ€

Natalie let out a sarcastic laugh. โ€œYelling? Easton, how dare you get into my bed? Get out of here. Donโ€™t you know I find you dirty?โ€

A chill flashed across Eastonโ€™s eyes. He fixed his deep gaze on Natalie. โ€œNatalie, can you stop with the insults? Whoโ€™s dirty? You meet with different guys every day; have I ever said anything about it?โ€

Natalie lifted her chin, not backing down. โ€œIs it any of your business? Get out, and donโ€™t come to my house again.โ€

Easton slowly sat up, realizing he hadnโ€™t slept this deeply in a long time. Last night was different; he had a deep, restful sleep, which left him feeling refreshed and in a good mood.

Easton gave a gentle smile, his eyes showing a warm amusement. โ€œNatalie, do I need to remind you again? Weโ€™re married. Is it really such a big deal to share a bed?โ€
