Chapter 239

Natalie had no idea about Jennifer’s difficult night and slept incredibly well.

In the morning, Natalie saw the bright sunshine outside, stretched lazily, and lay back down again.

She absolutely loved life on the island–the crystal-clear ocean was truly soothing.

However, the downside of living by the sea was the humidity.

Staying there for a while was truly amazing. The azure sky, the blue ocean, and the fresh breeze were all captivating, just like every other view she encountered.

After getting out of bed and washing up, Natalie planned to boil the seafood she collected yesterday and invite Tiana over for breakfast.

After Natalie sent a message to Tiana, she headed to the kitchen, which, though quite basic, was equipped with an induction cooker and a microwave, providing all she needed to prepare some seafood.

Natalie carried the coconut snails outside. She needed to crack them open and get the meat out for cooking.

As Natalie reached the door, she saw Easton about to leave too. Probably because they were on an island, he was dressed in a sleek, light gray tracksuit, which made him look refreshingly handsome, not as intense as usual.

Natalie just glanced at Easton coolly and headed towards the elevator.

Easton looked at the seafood she was carrying–it was what she had caught herself yesterday.

Easton followed Natalie and asked, “Natalie, when are you going back?”

Natalie replied aloofly, “Mr. Garcia, when I go back is none of your business. I’m not involved with you now. I came here for some peace and quiet. Why do I keep running into you and Jennifer? It’s really annoying.”

“Natalie…” Easton glared at her, feeling her rebellious attitude. She really knew how to get on his nerves.

Easton followed her into the elevator, trying to control his anger as he said, “Natalie, I’m not going to marry Jennifer. Please come back.”

Natalie glared at Easton, telling him to get away.

She declared, “Mr. Garcia, aside from the divorce, I have nothing else to discuss with you. Be true to your word; the moment you hurled those divorce papers at me was the moment you told me never to come back.”

Easton frowned, bewildered, as Natalie threw his own past words back in his face.

Easton gazed at Natalie intently and inquired, “I spoke those words impulsively. How long will you continue like this? Didn’t I make it clear that I won’t marry Jennifer?”

Natalie remarked, “Your choice of spouse is none of my business. However, whoever ends up with you is quite unfortunate.

“I can’t help but wonder who the next unfortunate soul will be, to be with a man who neglects his wife while lavishing 1.5 million dollars on his mistress.”

Easton smiled sarcastically and said, “Natalie, are you saying I never spent any money on you? Fine, starting this month, I’ll give you 1.5 million dollars every month.”

Natalie said, “No! I never used your money before, and I won’t spend any now. Save it for your Jennifer.

“I earn my own money. I never asked you for the 30 million dollars to cover my medical bills back then. I genuinely don’t need your money. It seems you just wanted to financially distance me to make room for Jennifer.

“Now that I’ve decided to leave, you two still won’t let me be. I can’t comprehend why people like you can be so cruel.

“You’re human beings–why treat me as if I’m not? Do you think you can cast me aside when you dislike me and summon me back when it suits you?

“Easton, there’s no one in this world you absolutely have to love, and nothing you absolutely have to do. I pity myself for ever having loved someone like you.”

Natalie was so angry that her face turned pale.

She told herself in her heart, ‘Forget it. I’m not going out to sea today. I’m too angry.

‘Right, I shouldn’t get mad. It is bad for my health.‘

When he heard those words, a chilling glint flashed in Easton’s eyes. He spoke through gritted teeth, “Natalie, I dare you to say that again.”

Natalie saw the elevator arrive at the first floor and stuck out her tongue at him, saying, “You jerk! You stole my first kiss. How dare you act cocky in front of me? Get away, or I’ll bash you with a coconut shell.”

After warning Easton, Natalie turned and walked away.

This time, if luck was on her side, Natalie wished to be with someone who loved her deeply and to relish a truly wonderful relationship.

Easton found Natalie’s endearing tantrum quite amusing. It was a delight to witness this spirited side of her.

Easton touched his chin, thinking, ‘Her first kiss? It was also my first kiss.‘

Easton felt cheerful. To him, that kiss was quite nice. Her lips were really soft.

He truly missed Natalie’s cooking. Having eaten her meals for two years, his palate had become accustomed to the flavor of her dishes.

Easton observed Natalie as she approached the trash bin, retrieved a stone, and used it to break open the shellfish, extracting only the meat.

Easton wondered, ‘Is she going down to sea today?‘

Suddenly, someone shouted, “Natalie! Natalie…”

Natalie stood up holding a basin and saw Murray. She was stunned and looked at Murray, who was rushing towards her, with surprise. She asked, “What are you doing here?”

In the morning light, Murray stood dressed in white, exuding an air of energy and attractiveness.

Murray raised his phone and smiled, saying, “I saw you were going to the sea today, so I came over. Natalie, you have to take me with you! I can’t free dive, but I’d love to see how you catch fish.”

Natalie looked at the calm sea. The morning breeze was a bit chilly.

Natalie suggested, “We need to dive during the day, but how about going tonight instead? There are usually more resources at night.”

Murray exclaimed, “At night? What if I accidentally fall into the sea? Will you be able to see and rescue me?” He was not particularly enthusiastic about the idea of going out to sea at night; he simply wished to enjoy the day.

When the wind came, Murray got quite anxious.

Natalie rolled her eyes at him and said, “Can’t you think more positively? There are only three days left until the high tide this month. Today is actually perfect for going to sea, but it will be a two-hour boat ride.

“There’s a small island nearby with plenty of seafood. If you decide to go, bring Tiana and a tent. We might not come back tonight because I plan to dive. We’ll return to the city tomorrow morning.”

Murray shouted, “Wow! That sounds so exciting. I’ll get the tent ready, and I’ll arrange the boat. Natalie, you just handle our dinner.”

Natalie smiled as she looked at the seafood in the basin and said, “Come on, let’s head upstairs. I’ll treat you to a seafood breakfast.”

“Oh!” Murray’s eyes lit up, and he exclaimed, “That’s fantastic, Natalie. I didn’t think I’d get to enjoy breakfast you make.”

Natalie said, “I caught this in the ocean yesterday. You did a great job last night, so you definitely deserve a reward. Tonight, I’ll catch some lobster for you.”

Murray laughed, his smile as bright as the sunny day.

Natalie couldn’t resist smiling at his infectious laughter.

“Natalie,” Tiana called out to her and came over.

The three of them walked up together, while Easton stood at a distance, his gaze gloomy as he looked at Murray. Easton pondered, ‘Why is he here?‘

“Mr. Garcia, are you going out?” Xavier walked over and asked.

Easton looked at him and said, “Natalie’s going out on the water today. Follow Murray, see where he finds a boat, and get one for yourself, too.”

Xavier was taken aback. After seeing Natalie’s exhilarating Instagram post, he inquired, “Mr. Garcia, should we be joining them?”

Easton narrowed his eyes, thinking of how Natalie mentioned they wouldn’t be back tonight. He smiled with a hint of mystery and replied, “Let’s relax a bit. Get a bigger boat. We aren’t coming back tonight.”

As Easton was about to leave, Xavier quickly said, “Mr. Garcia, hold on. We’ve discovered something. Please, take a look.”
