Jasmine crossed her arms and arrogantly looked at Tiana. “Tian, when does Natalie not frame Jennifer? You’re always up to no good. What are you planning today?”

“It’s Jennifer’s big launch day, so don’t cause any trouble. Octavian is here too, so you better not play any dirty tricks.”

Tiana retorted. “Jasmine, before you start talking big, maybe figure out who the father of the baby you’re carrying is. You’re rushing to stand up for Jennifer, trying to make her look like some saintly figure, and you think just because you say so, everyone will see her as this pretty little angel? And what, Natalie and I are just evil side characters trying to set people up? Sounds like you’ve read too many novels. Some things come with evidence. If you’re not afraid of her perfect image falling apart, go ahead and stir up trouble. We’re just here for a meal and didn’t expect to run into you. Now you’re claiming we’re scheming against Jennifer? Jasmine, if you’ve got such foresight, why don’t you figure out who the father of your baby is first?”

Jasmine’s eyes suddenly widened, and she screamed uncontrollably, “Tiana, what nonsense are you talking about! The baby is Jason’s. Even though he’s gone abroad, that doesn’t mean you can bully me like this.”

Tiana said, “Who’s bullying you? You’re the one rushing to defend Jennifer. Just look at yourself; instead of being someone else’s lapdog, why not focus on yourself, work hard, and shine on your own.”

Tiana felt her last sentence was completely unnecessary. She figured people like her just don’t understand.

“It’s alright, Jasmine, I’m okay. Natalie and Tiana didn’t do anything. Let’s go in and have dinner first.” Jennifer gently took her hand.

Going head-to-head with Natalie right now would just end badly for her. She’ll be limited as long as Easton and Natalie aren’t divorced. Once they part ways, she’ll have no worries.

Jennifer approached Natalie with a grin. “Natalie, running into you here must be fate. Want to grab something to eat together?” Jennifer reached out to pull Natalie along.

Natalie intended to step back, but Jennifer suddenly fell backward onto the ground.

Jennifer looked up at Natalie with tear-filled eyes. She choked out, “Nat, I’m really sorry. I just wanted to invite you to dinner, but I didn’t expect you to be unwilling. That’s on me. I know you didn’t mean to push me. Don’t worry about it. I’m fine.”

Tiana was speechless. Jennifer was definitely in the right industry with her drama skills. Her acting was Oscar-worthy.

Natalie frowned at her. “Jennifer, are you really addicted to acting?”

Octavian walked over and helped Jennifer stand up.

True to his title, Octavian was tall and fit, with chiseled features and strikingly pale skin. His captivating almond-shaped eyes shone with cold indifference.

His cold gaze settled on Natalie. “A bunch of us watched you knock Jennifer over. Still want to deny it?”

Natalie smirked coldly. “That’s because you’re all blind! I was stepping back. If I had pushed, it would’ve looked like this.” Natalie suddenly shoved Jennifer. Jennifer stumbled and fell to the ground clumsily, staring at Natalie in shock.

Natalie looked at her indifferently. “Jennifer, now that’s what it looks like when I push you. Falling on your own is very different from me pushing you. The people with you must be clueless; I can only prove my innocence through my actions.”

The crowd, called clueless, was speechless.

Jennifer cried, “Natalie, I never thought you’d push me, and so hard too. I just wanted to invite you to dinner!”

Natalie said, “Having dinner with someone as dramatic as you? I’d rather not risk choking on my food. I’ll leave that chance to the actor by your side.”

Natalie looked at Tiana. “Tiana, let’s go.”

Octavian stared coldly at Natalie, his eyes icy. “Did I say you could leave?”

“Oh! And what do you intend to do?” Natalie retorted without any politeness.

Octavian, a person who stood out in any crowd, carried an air of nobility as he stared warningly at Natalie. “I want you to apologize to Jennifer.”

Natalie chuckled, her tone cool and indifferent. “Apologize? Why don’t you ask Jennifer if she dares to accept my apology? A person who’s always scheming against me and dreaming of taking my life—do you think she’d even dare accept an apology from me?”

Jennifer was feeling panicked inside. The current Natalie was afraid of nothing. She remembered Natalie saying earlier today that she would drag her down to hell. This woman might really be serious.

She stood up, looking quite messy; her hand was hurting, but she tried hard to bear it. With a smile, she said, “Octavian, no need. Natalie didn’t do it on purpose. She’s just unhappy about being driven away by the Simpson family because of the plot. She has nowhere to go now, so it’s understandable that she’d want to vent some frustration when she sees me.”

Tiana said, “Oh my gosh, such a blatant act of pretending to be innocent! Jennifer, you’re quite the smooth talker.”

Tiana looked at Octavian, the famous actor, and said, “Congratulations, Octavian, on getting involved with such a manipulative woman. Be careful; she’ll drain you dry.”

Octavian furrowed his brows but didn’t say anything, watching Tiana with a dangerous look in his eyes.

Jennifer secretly shot Tiana a fierce glare. This damned woman was now also learning from Natalie to make digs at her. She used to be nothing but a crybaby fool who’d been set up by others like Khloe, but suddenly she was standing up for herself in public like this.

With an innocent and sad look, she started playing the victim. She said, “Tiana, I know you’re upset about not being able to end up with Vance, but you shouldn’t talk about me like that. Love requires mutual feelings. I understand the pain of unrequited love.”

Tiana stomped her foot in frustration, taking a deep breath to calm herself. Before she could speak, Natalie said, “Jennifer, Tiana cut ties with Vance a year ago. It was Tiana who didn’t want Vance, not the other way around. To make the Gillett family stop supporting Vance, you’ve gone to great lengths to make Tiana leave him. Your plan has succeeded. Are you still going to bully Tiana? Do you really think that by using these little tricks, you’ll win everyone’s favor? Jennifer, time will reveal who you truly are.”

Natalie then looked at Octavian and said, “The issues between Jennifer and me are none of your business unless you plan to get involved and hurt Tiana. If you do, I’ll pay to have the video of Jennifer hiring someone to kidnap me shown on every big screen in Shagrity. Let’s see if your movie can still be aired then. It all depends on your luck.”

Natalie finished her words and left with Tiana.

Octavian pressed his lips together, noticing that Natalie was much more impressive than Jennifer, although Jennifer seemed gentler. Jennifer had previously been involved in some negative trending topics, but she managed to clear her image later. There was some hype involved, but if it were true, the consequences would be serious. Jennifer didn’t expect to be intimidated by Natalie’s words when she had intended to trouble her and wisely chose not to argue.

But someone spoke up for her. Jasmine stomped her foot in anger. “Octavian, don’t listen to Natalie’s nonsense. She’s just the adopted daughter, and after being kicked out, she has nothing. She’s just jealous of Jennifer’s success.”
