Easton lazily glanced at Xavier and walked away without looking back.

Xavier noticed the change in Easton. It seemed like he was no longer obsessed with Jennifer. Now, he seemed to care about Natalie and worried that something might happen to her, which was why he had canceled the international conference to check on her.

Jennifer had also noticed that Easton wasn’t as invested in her as he used to be. That was why she had rushed early in the morning to please him.

In Shagrity, Easton was seen as the most respected person, and if Jennifer lost him, it would be like losing a cash cow.

Everyone knew about Easton’s pampering of Jennifer.

The news about Natalie being used as a stepping stone by Jennifer would likely not gain much traction. Natalie was still too small and weak to fight back. Those sponsors wouldn’t allow her to ruin the reputation of someone as valuable as Jennifer.

After all, everyone knew about Jennifer’s excellence, which had been built up over the years.

Xavier followed Easton back to prepare for the video conference.

In the afternoon, a statement was released by the Wayne Group. It clarified that any conflict between Vance and Natalie, related to the lead actress Jennifer, was purely a personal matter between the two of them and had nothing to do with the latter.

Soon after, Vance recorded a video in which he admitted to having a minor conflict with Natalie. He said that, to make her uncomfortable, he had said things he shouldn’t have.

Vance bowed three times in front of the camera, his expression serious. “Sorry to bother you all. I apologize for my impulsiveness. I deeply regret it, but I have to say that everything was orchestrated by Natalie. I’m sorry!”

The blame was entirely shifted onto Natalie, with Vance and Jennifer coming out unscathed. The onlookers weren’t buying it, though, and quickly started attacking Vance. However, they forgot about Jennifer.

This was the solution that Colin had come up with–to direct all the attention back onto Vance. As the person in the spotlight, Vance’s clarification would turn all eyes on him.

As for Jennifer, she had her ups and downs in the industry as an actress. She even gained over a million followers.

Jennifer’s reputation was saved, and she smiled happily. She was glad that she had turned to Colin for help. Those haters were suppressed by the Wayne Group’s PR team, which showed that everything could be solved with money.

With people like Colin pulling the strings, Natalie’s live broadcast ended quietly, without the impact she might have hoped for.

Vance, seeing the shift in public opinion and glancing at Jennifer beside him, felt a pang of guilt. “You’re fine now, Jennifer, but my company is on the verge of collapse.”

Vance founded the company himself and it had been thriving, but because of Khloe’s decision to leave to let him focus on his work–especially after his mother opposed their relationship–his progress had been stunted.

For the past year, Vance had been chasing after Khloe, which left the company’s growth stagnant.

Jennifer smiled and said, “Don’t worry, Vance. Once my movie comes out, I’ll gain a lot of money and help you start a new company.”

Without the company, Vance still had real estate and shares. He wouldn’t be homeless. However, he just felt that there was something off.

Vance was lost in thought, a deep sense of gloom hanging over him. Jennifer, on the other hand, left, feeling satisfied because this time, Vance had destroyed himself. She didn’t even need to lift a finger.

Vance still tried to save his company, so he reached out to potential partners and continued to work tirelessly with his artists. He didn’t care about the insults on the internet–what mattered was that he had beaten Natalie.

However, even in his so-called victory, there was no joy. All he could think of was the look of despair and anger in Natalie’s eyes, but he couldn’t do anything about it.

He only wanted to make his home a warm place. However, Natalie had made everything chaotic. Now, even his mother had turned her back on him. Staring at the online haters mocking him, Vance could only look on helplessly, offering no response.

As long as Jennifer was doing well, Vance didn’t mind being criticized. He kept reminding himself that Jennifer was his real sister. As for Natalie, she was just unlucky to have been taken away from birth.

While Vance was lost in his thoughts, he suddenly received a call from Colin. After listening to his words, Vance’s mood brightened, and he went to meet him.

Meanwhile, Natalie saw the news about Jennifer successfully clearing her name and gaining more followers. She wasn’t surprised at all. Everything was unfolding differently than before.

This time, she had managed to destroy Jennifer’s connection to Emma. After that, Jennifer had turned to Colin, but in reality, she was already in a weaker position.

Natalie hugged her arms tightly, feeling a deep sense of loneliness. In times like this, she had no one but herself. She couldn’t drag her grandfather and brother into this. She still had the Lance Group.

Natalie slumped over her desk, feeling a heavy weight on her heart.

“What are you doing?” someone asked.

Natalie, who was lost in her thoughts, didn’t notice the person entering. She muttered in a low voice, “I’m thinking about how to get a divorce.”

“Is that really what you want, Natalie? To get a divorce?” The cold voice reached her ears, and Natalie quickly straightened up.

It was Easton. His tall frame loomed in the doorway, his gaze deep and cold. Natalie couldn’t help but laugh bitterly. “You’re the one who wants a divorce, Easton. Don’t you think questioning me like this is a little hilarious?”

“I never said that. Just come back to me once you calm down,” Easton said indifferently.

Natalie paused for a moment before asking, “How did you get in?”

Easton sat on the couch nearby, elegantly crossing his long legs. “Luna let me in. When I said I came to talk about the divorce, she didn’t stop me.”
