Chapter 147
The receptionistโs weak expression turned into one of sheer terror. โIโฆ itโs themโฆโ She thought, โDamn it, why did she have to record the video? Iโm in no position to argue now!โ
Xavier stepped forward, his expression very serious. โGet to the HR department, get your pay, and get out.โ
The receptionist said, โNo, no, no, Ms. Simpson, please save me! I donโt want to leave. You told me youโre Mr. Garciaโs wife and that you could block anyone coming to see him. You said you would take full responsibility.โ
Jennifer thought, โHow dare that damn woman betray me.โ
She said, โEaston, I never said that, but you did promise me I could come and go freely. Sheโs trying to frame me just to stay here; itโs just despicable.โ
Easton didnโt even look at her.
Xavier waved his hand, calling over the bodyguard to lift the receptionist. He said, โApologize to Ms. Shawn, and remember, thereโs a reason for everything; find out who made you do this.โ
The receptionist looked ashen, glancing at Natalie, and bowed her head to apologize. โIโm sorry, Ms. Shawn! It was my fault; I wonโt dare do it again. Please let me off this time.โ
Natalie smiled indifferently at her. โBeing used as a pawn was your choice. You definitely provoked me. Iโm not like those people behind you who just pass the blame. I wonโt accept your apology. Now, get lost.โ
โAhโฆโ The receptionist panicked; the Garcia Group had the best benefits in all of Shagrity. She thought, โI still have a mortgage to pay; I canโt be without a job.โ
She bowed further down to beg Natalie, crying, โMs. Shawn, Iโm really sorry. I spoke out of turn. Please, I beg you to let me off this once.โ
Natalie looked down at her from above. โIโm not magnanimous. I hold grudges and repay every slight. Whoever made you do this, you can go find them. If youโre lacking in intelligence, donโt come to me; Iโm not responsible for raising your IQ!โ
Xavier waved his hand again, signaling the bodyguards to take her away.
Jennifer stomped her foot in anger. โNatalie, youโre being too heartless! Sheโs begging you already!โ
Natalie sneered. โYouโre kind; youโre good. So why donโt you save her? Why wait until after the fact to play Monday morning quarterback? Didnโt you brush your teeth this morning? Your mouth stinks!โ
โYouโฆ Natalie, youโre simply unreasonable!โ Jennifer was furious, thinking, โHow did Natalie become so sharp-tongued?โ
โWhat do you mean by unreasonable? Isnโt it you whoโs unreasonable? You made a deal with the receptionist and deliberately made things difficult for me; are you being reasonable?โ Natalieโs cold voice had a piercing quality.
Jennifer said, โEaston, look at himโฆโ
โGet lost! If you want to be provocative, wait until I leave. Itโs disgusting to watch.โ Natalie angrily interrupted her. Next, she was going to deal with Isabelle.
Jenniferโs eyes widened in shock; Natalieโs words were blatant humiliation.
Before she could say anything, Natalie continued. โEaston, I came to find your design director, Isabelle. The new product you released this morning was based on designs Jason secretly took from my office half a month ago.โ
She added. โI still have the torn-up draft there. You stole my new product design, and I canโt pursue legal action against you, but I will not let Isabelle go. You can either have her come down or I can beat her up, or I can call the police.โ
She had plenty of ways to prove the designs were hers. Her anger had reached its peak. Ever since her transmigration, she had never held back. She thought, 'Iโll strike if necessary. Otherwise, theyโll think Iโm easy to bully.'
Easton frowned. โAre you saying the design was yours?โ
Jennifer jumped in. โNatalie, you canโt even draw a design, yet youโre claiming others are plagiarizing you. How shameless are you? Isabelle is the best designer at your company. Why would she need to steal from you? What achievements do you have? Have you won any design awards? Are you really claiming Ms. Marshall copied your work?โ Jennifer was so angry, she laughed.
Natalie laughed too; she walked over and grabbed Jenniferโs hair.
โAhโฆ Natalie, what are you doing? Let me go!โ Jennifer screamed in pain.
Natalie sneered. โJennifer, from today on, Iโm going to do the things you falsely accused me of. Remember this scene? You knew Easton was coming and purposely messed up your hair, claiming I pulled your hair.โ
She added. โWhen I did pull your hair, you should have screamed like a madwoman, not cried and whined like someone whose father just died.โ
Xavier was speechless.
Natalieโs cold, red eyes fixed on the unmoving Easton. โGet Isabelle down here, or nobody will have it easy.โ
Easton instructed Xavier to call Isabelle to come down.
Xavier quickly made the call.
Jennifer was at a loss for words, thinking, 'Why wonโt Natalie let this go?' She said, โNatalie, let me go.โ
Natalie pulled her hair tightly, spinning her around three times before slamming her into Eastonโs arms.
โWahโฆ Eastonโฆโ Jennifer cried.
Natalie said slowly, โRemember, Jennifer, youโve framed me eighty-six times. Each time, it was carefully planned. I remember every one of those times, big and small. The worst one was six months ago when you set up Jason and framed me and Zoe.โ
Her cold gaze locked onto Jennifer, her eyes filled with painful memories.
Jennifer shouted angrily, โNatalie, youโre crazy! I didnโt do those things.โ
โOf course, Iโm crazy! You two scumbags have made me die in your hands once before. Since Iโve died once, why should I endure you again? Whatโs the harm in dying a second time?โ She glared sharply at Easton, who stood cold and indifferent, like an unmovable mountain.
โEaston, a person like you doesnโt deserve to live. From this moment until the moment you die, I will seek revenge. I will personally send you two to hell.โ Natalie was furious, her eyes bloodshot, thinking, 'I want them to pay for the child Iโve already lost.'
Tears streamed uncontrollably down Natalieโs face; at this moment, her heart ached beyond measure. This day had been too unfair for her. So unfair.
Easton frowned, feeling the intense hatred radiating from Natalie. 'So it was only what I did to her that made her hate me like this.'
Jennifer was also taken aback. โThis side of Natalie is truly terrifying. It seems Iโve pushed her to the edge; only impulsive people do foolish things."
Soon, Isabelle came down, wearing a burgundy dress that hugged her curvaceous figure perfectly, revealing most of her back, with a beautifully crafted back curve. She walked gracefully in high heels.
Natalie approached her without saying a word and directly started to fight.
โAhโฆโ Isabelle stumbled and fell to the ground, looking at Natalie, she cried out in grievance, โWhoโs this crazy woman? Why did you hit me?โ
