Chapter 102
Natalieโs eyes flickered for a moment. October Mall belonged to Easton.
The mall was called October Mall because Jennifer was born on October 1st. It was related to her birthday. When Easton opened this mall, he named it October Mall.
Seeing how happy Valerie was, she didnโt say much. Besides, she had fully given up on Easton. Bringing it up now didnโt really affect her mood anymore. In this lifetime, she wouldnโt give Easton another chance to hurt her.
Natalie said, โGreat, letโs head out! Itโs still early, we can shop until ten tonight and maybe even have a barbecue binge later.โ
Valerie laughed and said, โThatโs why I say itโs too dangerous to go out at night, the streets are crowded with barbecue stands!โ
Natalie looked at her increasingly slim body with a bit of frustration. She found it hard to put on weight.
Once she got into work, she didnโt have to control her diet on purpose, but still, it seemed impossible to gain any weight.
Natalie chuckled and said, โCome on, Valerie, the occasional feast isnโt going to make you gain weight. Letโs go, thereโs a street food market nearby, and Iโll take you to try some delicious snacks.โ
Valerie was delighted and gave her a hearty pat on the shoulder. โThatโs the spirit, Natalie! We should enjoy life to the fullest and not leave our cups empty.โ
Natalie replied, โAlright, alright, lifeโs best when youโre carefree, money comes and goes.โ
Valerie was speechless.
They left, chatting and laughing. Natalie drove over herself. With no traffic in the evening, she reached her destination in just half an hour.
In the past, Natalie rarely had time to go shopping in the evenings. After finishing the dayโs work, she had to take Eastonโs dinner and tidy up the house. Looking back now, those past few years were really stifling.
Nowadays, she lived freely. After getting out of the car, she gazed at the distant skyscrapers, where neon lights created a vibrant scene.
She took a deep breath. She worked hard for their life, but Easton didnโt even notice. Now, she no longer needed to strive for their future. It was such a relief.
Seeing Valerie get out of the car, Natalie composed herself and walked over, linking arms with Valerie, โCome on, Valerie, letโs go inside.โ
Valerie looked at the big letters of the October Mall, puzzled. โNatalie, why is this place called October Mall?โ
Natalie chuckled, โBecause it belongs to Eastonโs company, and Jennifer was born on October 1st, so itโs called October Mall.โ
Valerie suddenly stopped in her tracks and apologized, โNatalie, Iโm sorry, we shouldnโt have come here. Letโs go somewhere else.โ
Natalie looked at her, amused, โWhy change? Weโre just here to spend money, not to do anything else. No need to change.โ
โI'm worried youโll feel sad,โ Valerie said directly.
Natalie shook her head, โNot at all, Valerie. Falling for someone foolish, and fools canโt be helped. So, I donโt want to be a fool. I know what I want now, and Iโm no longer lost in life. Iโm working hard to make myself more successful.โ
Valerie understood what she meant and pulled her inside, โThatโs great, little rich girl. If you canโt hold onto the sand, itโs better to let it go.โ
โYeah!โ Natalie smiled with relief, and the two of them took the elevator up. They didnโt notice a tall figure following them.
Valerie wanted to buy some clothes, so the two of them went to the womenโs clothing section on the third floor. The clothes there were designed by Eastonโs team, along with other brands.
Valerie liked relaxed and casual styles, and they found a store with a nice collection, so they went in to pick some clothes.
Natalie laughed and said, โValerie, you love wearing robes. Iโll design some for you.โ
Valerie rolled her eyes at Natalie and said, โYou want me to wear robes in this bustling city?โ
Natalie knew she looked beautiful in anything. โBut buying these clothes is no match for those robes. They have more style.โ
Valerie was speechless. She didnโt have to wear robes. Although she inherited the astrology agency, she only dared to come down now because sheโd earned enough money.
โDesign a few custom pieces for me.โ Valerie loved the custom dresses Natalie designed; they were truly stunning.
โAlright, alright, Iโll design it for you tomorrow. In a week, youโll be wearing a luxurious custom gown, designed and crafted by me. Itโll be one-of-a-kind,โ Natalie said. Valerie was so happy because the clothes Natalie designed focused on comfort.
Natalie helped her pick out clothes and noticed a light gray suit that looked quite nice. She handed it to Valerie, saying, โValerie, this set suits you.โ
Valerie took a look and really liked it. She turned to the sales assistant and said, โMiss, could you please get this in a size M?โ
The sales assistant nodded with a smile, โOf course, miss, please wait a moment!โ
Soon, the sales assistant brought the right size for Valerie, who just picked it up. Sheโs not too particular about clothes as long as theyโre comfortable. Natalie knew her personality and kept selecting clothes.
โOh, isnโt it the discarded Natalie? How do you have the money to shop here?โ A mocking voice came, and a cold light flashed in Natalieโs eyes. She thought, Why do I keep running into jerks wherever I go?
Natalieโs good mood disappeared halfway as she saw Jennifer and Jasmine walk in.
Natalie sneered, โWho might this be? Oh, itโs just Jenniferโs number one sycophant!โ
Natalie thought when she saw Jasmine. โThis idiot probably doesnโt realize that Jennifer is using her to distract Jason. Once Jason is gone, sheโll just be discarded like a pawn."
Jasmineโs face suddenly went pale. Her friendship with Jennifer was mainly because Easton supported Jennifer. The Steward family also wanted to succeed in business.
Jennifer sneered, โNatalie, Jasmine is right. Youโre just a discarded woman that Easton abandoned. What do you have to be so proud of? Did you come here to meet Easton? Too bad, he wonโt be out shopping this late at night.โ
Jennifer proudly flashed a black card, โNatalie, see this? Easton gave me this card. He gives me millions of pocket money every year, but you canโt even spend a cent of his money.
โEven if youโre his wife, you have to pay for groceries yourself. Thatโs the difference between being loved and not being loved. And the money he gives me is something youโll never have in your lifetime.โ
Valerie was quick to get angry when dealing with a toxic girl. She was about to go teach Jennifer a lesson, but Natalie held her back.
Valerie fumed, โNatalie, how can you stand her bullying you all the time?โ
Natalie shook her head with a smile. โValerie, what she said is true. Why bother arguing with her? If she thinks itโs honorable to use a loverโs money, let her show off. A jerk and a betrayer are truly a match made in heaven.โ
Jennifer was so mad she stomped her foot. โNatalie, the one whoโs not being loved is the loser in a relationship. Youโre the real side chick here!โ
Natalie smiled brightly, her tone cheerful. โOh, I'm sorry, as long as my name is next to that jerkโs name, youโll always be the shameful side chick and the spiteful woman.โ
