Chapter 75 You Just Make Me Sick
โYouโre never wrong.โ
Andy clinked his glass against Tildaโs, and they shared a knowing grin.
The two of them were in sync, and every word was like a kick to Wadeโs pride.
His expression darkened, fists tightening at his sides.
For the first time, Wade felt corneredโmocked and humiliated right in front of everyone. And worst of all, the perpetrator was his little sister.
It was unbearable.
โHey, donโt you think youโre pushing this too far?โ
Clive hadnโt meant to step in, but hearing Tilda humiliate Wade like that made him snap.
Wade was his friend, after all.
โClive, are you standing up for Wade now? Ever heard of minding your own business? What makes you think you can interfere?"
โDo you think barging in makes you a hero? Pushing this too far? Iโm just speaking the truth. You donโt know a thing, so shut it!โ
Tilda knew Wade and Clive were close. But if Clive wanted to defend Wade, sheโd roast them both.
โTilda! You-โ
Cliveโs face turned red in anger from getting chewed out for nothing.
He actually felt a little sorry for Tilda earlier when he heard Wadeโs side of things. For a moment, he had even leaned toward her.
But the way Tilda shot her mouth off wasnโt pleasant.
"Kyla is the best. Sheโs sweet, gentle, and well-mannered. If Tilda had been like Kyla, she never wouldโve said that!โ
No wonder the Jensons only doted on Kyla and barely noticed Tilda. The gap between them was huge.
If Clive had been in Wadeโs shoes, he wouldโve made the same choice.
โClive, stay out of it.โ
Wade finally spoke, cutting Clive off before he could clap back at Tilda.
Clive snorted, turning away angrily.
Wade said seriously, โTilda, I truly need to speak with you.โ
Wow, being calm now?
Tilda frowned slightly. That wasnโt Wadeโs usual style.
Maybe he finally learned to play it cool. At least this time, he wasnโt yelling, trying to hit her, or spitting curses like she was trash he wanted gone.
โOh? But Iโm not interested. Iโve got no time for you."
โTalking to a loser like you is way more boring than drinking with Andy.โ
Tilda went all in, crushing Wadeโs pride without a second thought. Her disgust was plain as day.
Why should she bother? Back then, she wouldโve bent over backwards just to hear him out, and he brushed her off.
Now, she didnโt care anymore. She had cut him off and moved on.
But Wade still talked down to her, like she was supposed to listen.
Not this time.
โTilda!โ
After being humiliated again and again, Wade finally snapped. His voice trembled with rage.
โSo, the mask is finally off, huh? Wade, this is who you areโno point in hiding it."
โWhy bother acting like the caring big brother? You just make me sick!"
โIf I hadnโt asked Andy to take my lawsuit, youโd never even look at me."
โOh, so now that your familyโs pride is on the line, youโre getting all nervous? Suddenly trying to act like the loving brother?"
โWhat do you take me for? Some stray dog that comes running and wagging its tail just because you toss me a little kindness?โ
Her words hit Wade like freezing water. He stood there, speechless.
He told himself to stay calm. She had every reason to hate him. But why couldnโt he hold it together?
Clive interrupted, โTilda, youโre going way too far. Wade has admitted he was wrong. He just wants to fix things!โ
โAdmitted it? He never means well. I donโt care if he feels guilty. Iโm done making peace. The Jensons are leeches to me. I want nothing to do with them!โ
Tildaโs words shut Clive down instantly.
โForget it, Wade. Your sister is impossible. Talking to her is useless. If we stick around, weโll just get trashed again. Letโs go!โ
Clive didnโt want to take another scolding, and watching Wade get torn into like that was unbearable. He tried pulling Wade out of there.
But Wade shook Clive off quietly, keeping his eyes locked on Tilda.
โTilda, I do have something to say to you.โ
Andy spoke up, โHey man, canโt you take a hint? Bugging a girl after she already said no? Thatโs not very gentlemanly.โ
Wade said nothing. He knew he looked pathetic, but he still had to talk to Tilda.
