Chapter 114: Canโ€™t Catch a Big Fish Without Casting a Long Line

Rebecca just couldnโ€™t stand the thought of letting Tilda and Una leave like this. She hadnโ€™t even gotten the chance to vent her anger on them, and sheโ€™d already been humiliated. If she didnโ€™t get back at them, she might as well change her name.

Tilda stopped in her tracks. She turned, eyes cool as glass, but with a mischievous spark as she looked at Rebecca. โ€œAre you sure about that?โ€

Right in front of Rebecca, Tilda pulled out her phone and switched on the voice recorder.

Seeing this, Rebecca immediately spoke up. โ€œWhy are you turning on the recorder?โ€

โ€œIf Ms. Bell wants to play, then Iโ€™m happy to join in. But knowing your nature, it feels like youโ€™d lose and then not own up to it. Iโ€™m just recording for proof, thatโ€™s all. If you lose, at least Iโ€™ll have something to hold you responsible, right?โ€

Tildaโ€™s quick jab set Rebecca off instantly, and she blurted out, โ€œSo you agree to the challenge, then?โ€

Tilda replied, โ€œFine by me. And Iโ€™ll even go one step further. You get to decide how we compete.โ€

That caught Rebecca off guard. Tilda had to be crazy! She was just handing all the power to Rebecca. Wasnโ€™t that basically asking to lose?

โ€œYou really mean what you said? Whatever. Going up against a loser like you, I can beat you no matter what.โ€ Tildaโ€™s mocking tone nearly sent Rebecca over the edge.

Rebeccaโ€™s whole body was trembling with rage as she stared at Tildaโ€™s smug, superior smirkโ€ฆ That was the trademark look Rebecca usually wore herself. How dare garbage like Tilda look down on her like that? She was just some worthless reject that the Jensons didnโ€™t want to acknowledge!

โ€œYouโ€™ve got some nerve! When you lose and have to kneel and bark like a dog, Iโ€™ll make sure everyone in the world sees the video!โ€

Kyla, who had been trailing behind Rebecca, stayed silent the whole time. She couldnโ€™t help feeling suspicious. Where was Tilda getting all this confidence? She was even letting Rebecca decide what to compete in. Rebecca was still a Bell, after all. Even if she was useless, sheโ€™d grown up surrounded by money and top-tier education. Tilda was being way too carelessโ€“she was bound to suffer for it!

โ€œTildaโ€ฆโ€

To be honest, Una thought it was a waste of time for Tilda to compete with Rebeccaโ€“these people werenโ€™t worth it. But she still wanted to support Tilda. She believed Tilda would win, no matter what. But now that Tilda was letting Rebecca choose, Rebecca would definitely pick whatever she was best at. No matter how good Tilda was, if Rebecca picked a skill she sucked at, Tilda would be in trouble!

Tilda caught Unaโ€™s worried look and gave her a quick wink, letting her know not to stress. Sheโ€™d lived through all this before. In her past life, sheโ€™d already dealt with Rebecca more than once. Among all the shining stars in the Bell family, Rebecca was definitely a black sheep. Sheโ€™d gone to a trashy college that only rich kids could afford and bought her degree overseas. Other than her face and her figure, Rebecca didnโ€™t have much going for her. But in the Bells, looks were the least valuable asset. If Ryan and Daphne hadnโ€™t spoiled her, and if her brother Preston wasnโ€™t there to back her up, a troublemaker like Rebecca probably wouldโ€™ve been kicked out of the family long ago. After all, her father Ryan and her brother Preston still held some sway among the Bells. Someone like Rebecca only had a handful of talents. Tilda pretty much knew what she would pick.

You canโ€™t catch a big fish without casting a long line. Everything was going according to Tildaโ€™s plan.

โ€œThereโ€™s an archery range in this amusement park. Letโ€™s settle it there! One round, winner takes all! Whoever gets the higher score wins!โ€

Just as Tilda expected, Rebecca went straight for her strongest skillโ€“archery. It was pretty much the only thing she was actually good at.

Tilda switched her phone to video mode and aimed it at Rebecca. โ€œWhoever loses has to kneel and bark like a dog.โ€

โ€œDeal!โ€

Rebecca was practically losing her mind with rage. All she wanted was to win and completely embarrass Tilda.

At that point, Kyla finally spoke up, weakly tugging on Rebeccaโ€™s sleeve. โ€œRebecca, letโ€™s just forget it. Donโ€™t stoop to Tildaโ€™s level. Tilda, Rebeccaโ€™s amazing at archery, youโ€™ll definitely lose โ€ฆ Weโ€™re all family, after all. Thereโ€™s no need to go this farโ€ฆโ€

Tilda didnโ€™t even bother with Kylaโ€™s fake, innocent act. She just pulled Una along and headed for the archery range.

Kylaโ€™s elaborate performance fell flat when nobody paid attention, making her feel pretty awkward.

Rebecca shot Kyla a look, frowning just a bit. โ€œKyla, whose side are you on? Iโ€™m only doing this for you. Tilda let me pick the competition, and I didnโ€™t force her into it. Weโ€™ve come this farโ€“how can we just let her walk away? I need her to admit defeat!โ€

Rebeccaโ€™s temper made Kyla instantly clam up and lower her head. Sheโ€™d tried to stop things, so at least she could say she did her part as a โ€˜bestie.โ€™ If anyone asked, she could say she tried.

And if Tilda ended up losing badly, kneeling and barking in front of Rebecca and getting the whole thing filmedโ€ฆ
