Chapter 537

Carmen remained silent. Both she and Trevor understood that the only reason he ever intervened to help her, rather than simply watching from the sidelines, was that everyone believed she was the one who had assisted him that time.

"I... I remember that. I went to the hotel to see you,โ€ Carmen said, her voice barely steady.

โ€œYeah, you did," Trevor replied with a mocking smirk. "But you werenโ€™t the only one who showed up, were you? Aubree came too. If she hadnโ€™t been thinking about me and decided to visit, you probably wouldnโ€™t have even bothered unless you were worried. Iโ€™d remember how good she was to me, right?โ€

โ€˜Yeahโ€ฆ thatโ€™s true,โ€™ Carmen admitted to herself.

She moved her lips but stayed silent. Back then, it was Aubree who went to Bryan and said she wanted to check on Trevor. Carmen, who was worried Aubree was trying to score points with him, quickly suggested sheโ€™d tag along too.

The family driver took them over. But as soon as they pulled up to the hotel, Carmen spotted that mob of obsessive fans, and she knew exactly how nuts those people could get. She immediately told the driver to turn the car around and head back.

But only Aubree was that clueless. The moment she heard Carmen talk about how gross those fans were, she didnโ€™t hesitate and jumped out of the car, running off to help Trevor.

โ€˜Seriously, if that isnโ€™t stupidity, what is?โ€™ Carmen thought.

Aubree ended up in the hospital, beaten up and filmed. If the Wilson family hadnโ€™t pulled some strings, her whole future wouldโ€™ve been destroyed.

Carmen still remembered how Ronald and Alice had no idea what really happened. They thought Aubree had gotten herself mixed up with some shady people and scolded her harshly for it.

However, Aubree was unbelievably naive, and she was too afraid that if the truth about helping Trevor got out, Ronald would blame him too. As such, she never explained that sheโ€™d gone to help him.

While Aubree was lying in the hospital, Trevor came back and asked Carmen if sheโ€™d gone to the hotel to see him. Naturally, Carmen just went along with it and took the credit for that.

โ€˜I did go to the hotel to see him, didnโ€™t I? So whatโ€™s the problem?โ€™ Carmen thought.

Her expression flickered a few times before she finally looked up and let out a light laugh, โ€œTrevor, how can you say that? Iโ€™m your sister. Of course, I care about you. Itโ€™s only natural Iโ€™d want to check in on you and see how you were holding up at work.โ€

โ€œI really donโ€™t get what youโ€™re trying to say. That time, I went to see you with Aubree. When you got back from the set, you asked if Iโ€™d visited you, and I told you I had. So, why are you bringing this up now?โ€

Carmen took a step closer as she added, โ€œAre you sure youโ€™re not just blaming the wrong person here?โ€

Either way, Trevor already knew the truth, and there was no point pretending anymore.

Trevor glared at her, fury surging inside. โ€˜Yeah, maybe I was confused at first and assumed it was Carmen, but if she keeps denying it like this, what am I supposed to do?โ€™ he thought, disgusted by her shamelessness.

He let out a cold laugh in response, โ€œNow I finally get it. Itโ€™s no wonder you carry the Wilson name, but you still canโ€™t measure up to Aubree. A fake heiress like you will never be the real deal. Do you honestly believe you belong in this family?

โ€œEvery single one of us in the Wilson family is accomplished and outstanding. All you have are these pathetic little tricks that are barely enough to make a splash anywhere. Dad and the others have always wanted Aubree to come back. I used to keep quiet because I didnโ€™t want her here.

โ€œBut now I know who my real sister is. Tell me, if I made you suffer everything you ever did to Aubree, but a thousand times worse, do you really think she still wouldnโ€™t come back?โ€

Carmen flinched at his words, and she stumbled a couple of steps backwards. Only now did she realize just how reckless sheโ€™d been.

Trevor was different from everyone else, and he was truly ruthless.

Suddenly, the half-open door was shoved wide open from outside, and an angry voice roared, โ€œTrevor, whatโ€ฆโ€
