Chapter 357
She recounted her entire experience to the media without holding back. She even openly admitted, โIโm sharing my story because I want to kick her while sheโs down.โ
Sophia trembled all over. A simple misunderstanding had driven Milena to this extent. If Milena found out Sophia was pregnant with Trevorโs childโฆ
Sophia had already severed ties with her company. Her only remaining card was the child. But if the Wilson family refused to acknowledge it, and Milena got wind of it, sheโd be doomed for sure.
โWhat do you want me to do? And what can you offer me in return?โ After a moment of silence, Sophia gave in. She needed someone to back her up.
Sophia was very aware that Aubree reaching out meant she wanted to use her pregnancy somehow. The online chaos was likely Aubreeโs doing too. As long as what Aubree offered was good enough, Sophia would do anything to get what she wanted.
Aubree replied, โI can help you marry Trevor.โ
The temptation was simply too great. Sophia couldnโt refuse. โWhy should I trust you?โ
Aubree chuckled again. โDo you really have a choice right now? I probably understand the Wilson family better than most. If you listen to me, getting into that family wonโt be hard.โ
She just wasnโt making any promises about how Sophia would get in, or what Trevor would still be like by then.
Sophia could only agree. โWhat do I need to do?โ
Aubree replied, โDonโt rush. Has your baby reached the stage where you can do amniocentesis?โ
โNot yet.โ Sophia immediately understood what Aubree wanted. She wanted to do a DNA test and confirm the babyโs paternity.
Aubree said, โThen contact me when the results are out.โ
She hung up the phone. The online storm had already been handled by Trevor. Now, the internet was filled with criticism of Milena.
To be fair, Trevor really wasnโt much of a man. When they were dating, he could say the sweetest things. But the moment he didnโt need someone anymore, heโd toss them aside faster than anyone.
Men who toyed with women would face consequences sooner or later.
Aubree gave a cold chuckle and stopped concerning herself with the rest. She would let the Yurchenko family deal with the mess. The more they tried to clean it up, the more mistakes theyโd make. And once she got hold of those, theyโd never recover.
But her satisfaction didnโt last long. Glancing at the documents in her hand, Aubreeโs expression soured again. She had come back not only to deal with all this chaos, but also for something extremely important. It was the final exam.
After surviving two weeks of finals, Aubree finally made it through her first semester of college without flunking a single class.
Now she just had to wait for Sophiaโs DNA results. Meanwhile, Birgitte no longer needed Bowenโs care in Sรผdlichen Strand.
Aubree had just received word. Bowenโs flight was tonight, and heโd arrive in Rithol City by dawn.
Aubreeโs eyes narrowed. She wasnโt mad at Birgitte, but that didnโt mean sheโd forgotten how Bowen had indulged Birgitte in calling the press.
Just a few days ago, she received an invitation from Manchotech Group to the Internet Innovation Conference.
The Internet Innovation Conference was a major event led by the government, coโhosted by the commercial zones of Rithol City, Sรผdlichen Strand, and Nadio. It aimed to promote collaboration and learning between enterprises.
Aubreeโs livestream model and short video app had made a huge splash on the market. She was the first to pioneer both formats. After her โGrabCheapโ platform received investment from Manchotech, its numbers exploded, and the new group-buying eโcommerce model quickly gained traction.
As one of the conferenceโs coโorganizers, Manchotech Group had extended invitations to its key partners.
And Aubree was now absolutely worthy of attending the event.
Unfortunately, the conference was scheduled for tomorrow.
Aubree narrowed her eyes. What a pity. Her boyfriend was just coming back, and she already had to dive into work.
