Chapter 356

โ€œIs it Sophia?โ€

Sophiaโ€™s grip on her phone tightened. It was a young womanโ€™s voice. She thought it was Milena.

โ€œWho are you?โ€ Sophia was extremely nervous. Being found at a time like this was anything but good news.

A soft chuckle came from the other end. โ€œIโ€™m Aubree Miller.โ€

Sophia froze. Of course, she was familiar with that name. On the contrary, it was etched in her memory.

That girl who had once shown up on set to discuss a collaboration with Sylvia had now become a household name, the youngest entrepreneurial success story in the country.

Back then, Sophia had even been jealous of Aubree.

She instinctively touched her belly. Her throat was dry from anxiety. โ€œWhy are you calling me? What do you want?โ€

Aubree didnโ€™t answer directly. โ€œHow have you been lately? Is the baby doing well?โ€

Sophiaโ€™s heart skipped a beat. Her phone nearly slipped from her hand. She didnโ€™t expect Aubree to know about the baby.

Her pregnancy wasnโ€™t that far along, only four months. She had planned to approach Trevor at around seven or eight months. She hadnโ€™t gone out much lately. However, Aubree knew about it.

โ€œWhat do you want?โ€ Sophiaโ€™s voice rose uncontrollably. Aubree didnโ€™t get along with Trevor. She was afraid Aubree wanted to harm the baby.

โ€œDonโ€™t panic. I donโ€™t intend to do anything to the baby. Technically speaking, that child is my nephew, isnโ€™t he?โ€ Aubree sounded as if she saw right through her.

She continued, โ€œYou saw the news online, didnโ€™t you? It mustโ€™ve been hard. Actually, if I can find out about your pregnancy, Trevor certainly can too. The truth is, he just doesnโ€™t care about you.โ€

She added, โ€œJust like in this current situation. He can abandon Milena at any time, and he can just as easily throw you away.โ€

Sophia fell silent. She had been counting on her child as her ticket to status, but that didnโ€™t mean she didnโ€™t care about Trevor. Deep down, she still loved him.

Of course, she resented how heartless he had been, discarding her so easily.

Aubreeโ€™s words made Sophia alert. She had been too optimistic about everything. She hadnโ€™t considered the possibility that Trevor might deny the child, or worse, that the Wilson family might choose to keep the baby but not her.

Trevor wasnโ€™t just a celebrity actor. He was the heir of a powerful family.

But even if that were true, Sophia didnโ€™t know if helping Aubree could guarantee her success. Sophia felt torn. And in her hesitation, the TV in the room suddenly broadcast a news interview.

โ€œIโ€™m Birgitte Cherniavsky. The online rumors are true. Why would I joke about something like that? Yes, I really wasโ€ฆ No, those people arenโ€™t worthy of being called my family.โ€

โ€œWhat does it have to do with Milena? Do you know how I was kidnapped that day? I went to a club for a business meeting, and it was there that I was abducted. The ones who took me were my so-called father and brother.โ€

โ€œDo you really think they couldโ€™ve entered the club and known my whereabouts without help? And it just so happens the clubโ€™s management has deep ties to the Yurchenko family.โ€

Sophia listened to the interview, her mind a complete blank. When she first saw the trending topic, she had pitied Birgitte. But if what she was saying was true, and Milena was behind it allโ€ฆ

The interview continued. Birgitteโ€™s voice still came from the TV.

โ€œWhy would she do this to me? Actually, I donโ€™t even know Milena personally, but sheโ€™s in love with Trevor.โ€

โ€œMy boss, Aubree Miller, is Trevor Wilsonโ€™s sister. Milena misunderstood their relationship. Unable to deal with Aubree directly, she targeted me instead. Even if thereโ€™s no hard evidence against her, I wonโ€™t let any of what I suffered go.โ€

Birgitteโ€™s goal was clearly to keep putting pressure on Milena by publicizing her story. Reporters wanted to interview her, and she gladly accepted.
