Chapter 191

Alaricka had her mouth half open, and bubbles came out, floating on the water.

Across the water, she heard the people on the shore shouting.

Her body slowly went down. Her eyes saw a big crowd running over, and their faces looked twisted in the water’s reflection.

But she just happened to see the look on the face of the person in front.

His face looked as dark as the water, his brows sharp and cold. His thin lips were pressed tight. The look on his face was anxious but held back. His black eyes were just like an eagle’s–sharp and deep.

That was Kieran.

Alarieka’s mind was turning slowly.

Kieran was this anxious, but for whom?

Was it her, or was it Roschelle?

Roschelle was right next to her, flailing her arms and legs, and kept calling for help to the people on the shore.

“Help, help me-”

Alarieka’s mind got a little fuzzy.

In a daze, everything in front of her twisted into something else again.

Once upon a time, Kieran had been this anxious for her too.

That was when she first learned to swim at the Argent’s villa. The Argent family hired a teacher for her, and she thought the teacher even graduated from some famous university.

She didn’t understand the teacher’s education, and of course, she didn’t get the contempt hidden in the teacher’s eyes when looking at her.

She couldn’t tell the difference, so that afternoon, she was forgotten by the teacher at the pool.

By the pool, there was no one.

She didn’t know what to do, so she just held onto the swim ring and slid carefully in the pool.

She didn’t know that if you stayed in the pool too long, your legs would cramp.

After her leg cramped, Alarieka shook all over in pain in the pool, her face turned pale, and it hurt so much that she couldn’t even hold onto the swim ring with both arms. Her body kept sinking into the water.

She flailed her arms and legs, struggling in the water. Water got into her mouth and nose. She swallowed a lot of pool water. Her stomach churned, and her legs hurt so much they shook.

She struggled for a long time, but in the end, she didn’t have much strength left. She watched as the water went over her nose and mouth, and the air in her lungs slowly ran out.

Across the water, she heard some quick footsteps.

She also saw above the water, Kieran’s face looked anxious and restrained.

She was lifted out of the water by Kieran, held tightly in his arms.

She leaned against Kieran, held his waist tightly too, and cried uncontrollably.

“I was so scared, I didn’t want to practice swimming anymore, okay? I didn’t want to do it anymore…”

She remembered clearly, Kieran said to her, “Okay, then don’t practice anymore, I’ll help you from now on.”

At this moment, Alarieka was facing the same troubles as before.

Back then, she didn’t learn how to swim, she only learned to be afraid.

She was afraid of water.

Was really scared.

After Roschelle pulled her down, the whole world spun, her mind went blank, and she didn’t know what she was supposed to do.

She wondered vaguely, would Kieran still remember that she couldn’t swim?

Do you still remember that she was afraid of water?

Alarieka opened her eyes a little and watched as two smooth figures jumped down one after the other.

She had a little bit of hope in her heart.

Then she watched as those two figures swam past her, heading straight for Roschelle.

Roschelle was held in the arms of two people, and they both lifted Roschelle up together.

Alarieka’s fingers curled a little, and a bitter smile slipped from the corner of her mouth.

She didn’t get why she was still hoping for Kieran when things had gotten this bad.

How could I still be hoping for him?

Alaricka slowly closed her eyes.

But suddenly, a slowly growing feeling of unwillingness rose up in her heart.

What made her have to die here?

She already died once, she already died once because of Roschelle.

Why did I still have to die because of Roschelle in this life?

She just had to stay alive, and live well.

She had to stay alive.

Lived longer than Roschelle.

Alarieka suddenly opened her eyes, and in that instant, she remembered what that swimming coach had said.

“Couldn’t swim, but knew to relax in the water, not struggle, let the body float up slowly, and wait for help.”

Alarieka’s eyes went wide, and a different kind of light burst in her eyes.

After the two figures, several more people jumped down to help.
