Chapter 157

The woman smiled meaningfully: “Sigh, we all saw it. Mr. Argent was really good to Ms. Whitaker; we all saw it.”

Roschelle’s cheeks turned a little red, and she looked up shyly, glancing at Kieran.

Kieran looked calm, but there was a smile on his lips.

The people gathered around were all really sharp, so of course they didn’t miss the smile at the corner of Kieran’s mouth.

So they knew they were in Kieran’s good graces.

The Argent family was the top dog in this city and even had an unignorable, superior status all over the country and the world.

Kieran was the best and most outstanding kid among the younger generation of the Argent family.

The people around immediately gathered around Roschelle and Kieran, praising them as a perfect match and a couple made for each other.

It was Wallace who came over and stopped those voices.

“Thanks a lot. If the big day really comes, I would definitely send you guys an invitation.”

Wallace looked at Kieran with a bit of helplessness in his eyes, but mostly with pride.

“Since you knew Rose was already pregnant, you shouldn’t have messed around with her. You should have cared more about Rose’s health.”

The people around laughed even louder.

They all knew what Wallace was talking about.

It was just now, when they followed Wallace to find Kieran, that they heard some noises outside Kieran’s lounge.

Roschelle didn’t really understand, but she knew how to keep calm and act confident.

“Kier always takes good care of me.”

The people around started making even more noise: “Ms. Whitaker, don’t be shy. Even though we all heard the sounds from you two in the lounge just now, it’s normal. We get it. We were young once too.”

Said it so clearly.

Roschelle didn’t get it before, but now she got it.

Her smile slowly froze, and the emotion in her eyes gradually stiffened.

Roschelle couldn’t hide the mess in her eyes and looked up at Kieran.

Kieran looked normal, nothing unusual.

Roschelle forced a smile: “Just now, when was that?”

People around were busy answering: “It was just ten or twenty minutes ago; we all heard your voices outside the door, Ms. Whitaker, did you forget?”

Roschelle twisted her hands together, took a deep breath, forced a smile, and joked with a fake laugh, “Alright, you guys were eavesdropping by the wall.”

She didn’t show up ten or twenty minutes ago, so how could it be her?

Who else was in Kieran’s lounge?

A huge wave of anger and grievance rose up in Roschelle’s heart. She forced down her surging feelings and joked along with everyone for a bit.

After the crowd left, Roschelle lowered her head and tugged on Kieran’s sleeve, her voice very soft and quiet.

“Kier,” she looked up and forced a smile, “who was that woman?”

Roschelle controlled the details really well, and in her voice, there was both grievance and a kind of pitiful helplessness that pretended to be generous.

It was a tone that men liked and never got tired of.

Her eyes were brimming with tears: “Kier, can you tell me?”

Kieran raised his hand and took Roschelle’s hand in his, his warm palm wrapping around hers.

His voice was low and cold, like he was talking about someone who didn’t matter.

“It was Alarieka.”

Roschelle’s eyelashes fluttered. “So it was Alarieka.”

Her voice softened: “She came too?”

Kieran just said "Mm" and didn’t explain much.

Roschelle kept a smile and stayed calm on the outside, but inside she couldn’t stay calm at all – her mind was in turmoil.

It was Alarieka again.

It was her again.

It was still her.

Why was Alarieka always going against her?

Roschelle clenched her hands, her nails almost digging into her palms.

“I remembered, the invitation didn’t get to Alarieka. Was it really okay?”

Kieran said quietly, “Just ignore her.”

Roschelle lowered her eyelids; a deep look flashed in her eyes: “Then she had to hide well. If people found out she didn’t have an invitation, she’d be kicked out.”

In the lounge.

Alarieka sat on the couch waiting for someone.

After waiting and waiting, half an hour passed, and still no one showed up.

She couldn’t help but start to wonder if Kieran just didn’t take what she said seriously, so he didn’t call Clarissa over for her.

Alarieka patted her head, frowning.

How could she think Kieran would really help her; that was so damn stupid.

Might as well go out and look for it myself.

She had just stood up, and there was a noise at the door.

It was the sound of the door opening and someone talking.

“Who was looking for me? All secretive and stuff, is there something you couldn’t tell me?”
