Episode 84
Despite her own discomfort, Elizabeth stayed by Camille’s side for hours, ensuring her well-being. This act of kindness marked a turning point; afterward, Camille truly began to open her heart to Elizabeth.
During her sophomore year of high school, Camille decisively rejected her father’s plans for her marriage as a means of securing family alliances. Claiming the need to study abroad, she escaped to Steu Skua and remained there for seven years. Upon her return, Camille had finally forged the life she had always dreamed of.
Elizabeth was genuinely thrilled for Camille, though she couldn’t help but feel a pang of envy at Camille’s independence. She harbored hopes of one day achieving such freedom herself.
As their conversation continued, the taxi arrived at their destination. Exiting the vehicle, Elizabeth followed Camille into the chic façade of the Oasis Club. She gazed up at the sign, its modern, sleek lighting exuding style without gaudiness. Yet, the air was thick with the scent of alcohol, and the intersecting beams of light, coupled with bursts of music from the private rooms, clearly indicated a vibrant nightlife establishment. The patrons, both men and women, wore subtly flirtatious expressions.
Having never been to such a place before, Elizabeth hesitated. “Why don’t we find somewhere to enjoy a decent meal? What’s the big deal about this place, anyway?” she remarked playfully.
With a confident smile, Camille draped an arm around Elizabeth’s shoulders and guided her, following a waiter into a secluded room.
“Oh, the food here is excellent! Tonight, I’m going to introduce you to the excitement of nightlife,” she declared, her eyes gleaming.
As Elizabeth settled into her seat, a group of young men entered, their presence making the spacious room feel suddenly cramped. Each was over six feet tall, with broad shoulders and slim waists—a sight that could easily place them among lesser-known celebrities.
