But isn't contentment sometimes elusive? Perhaps she's experiencing something different with Mr. Rodgers? Maybe she's pursuing what she truly desires. Outside the Hazelnut Time Coffee Shop, Elizabeth glanced back at Soren, who had followed her, a mild headache throbbing at her temples.

She was indifferent to Elijah's possible misunderstandings; her primary concern was keeping Soren out of her private affairs. Her brows furrowed as she searched for a diplomatic dismissal when a familiar figure caught her attention. By the roadside stood Camille, in a striking bodycon dress, enthusiastically waving.

"Sweetheart, congratulations on breaking free from the chains of marriage!" Camille exclaimed with a gleeful smile.

Elizabeth froze, her mind racing to process Camille's unexpected arrival from Steu Skua. Shifting her gaze to Soren, she offered an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, a friend just arrived. I need to go."

"And hey, let me know about the audition. I'm pretty flexible these days," Elizabeth added, quickly taking Camille's arm and leading her away.

Once in a taxi, Elizabeth turned to Camille, curiosity evident on her face. "What made you come back?"

"Success was elusive abroad, so here I am," Camille responded casually, reclining in the seat. She instructed the driver, "Head to the Oasis Club, please."

Suspicion flickered across Elizabeth's face. "And how exactly did you find me here?"

Wearing a self-satisfied grin, Camille declared, "Is there anything in the entertainment industry that escapes my notice? I heard Mr. Rodgers was meeting with Katrina here."

Camille alone knew Elizabeth used the pseudonym Katrina Spencer. With a playful wink, Camille teased, "But I'd only heard of Soren Rodgers before. I had no clue he was such a looker. Why not give him a chance, especially after ditching that jerk, Elijah?"

Elizabeth, still stinging from Elijah's words, quickly interjected, "Please, don't try to set me up. I'm really just focusing on my career."

"Fine, fine, we'll drop it. Today's about celebrating your freedom," Camille responded, her smile radiant and disarming.

They had shared formative years as high school classmates. Back then, Camille was reserved and academically struggling, resulting in few friendships. As class representative, Elizabeth occasionally covered for Camille's missed homework, laying the groundwork for their connection. Their bond deepened dramatically the day Camille fell seriously ill and collapsed in the classroom. Without hesitation, Elizabeth lifted her friend and carried her to the infirmary, twisting her ankle in the process.
