Chapter 691
I felt a bit shy, but then I thought, โIโve got a great body. If I donโt show it off, Iโd be doing myself a disservice.โ I had my long hair tied up in a bun on top of my head, with a few loose strands falling down. My body was porcelain-white and slender. My waist had slimmed down since coming to the United Kingdom, but thankfully, my bust hadnโt shrunk at all. It was now pushed together, creating a deep cleavage.
Edward slapped the water against his legs. As he saw me coming over, he suddenly leapt into the pool.
I walked over and sat by the edge of the pool. He stood there in the water, tall and smiling at me. โSwim a lap first, let me see how you do, then Iโll know how to teach you.โ
Edwardโs body was seriously well-built. Unlike Ryan, who had that youthful vibe and a slim waist, Edward was more solid and muscular, with defined abs. He must have been hitting the gym hard lately.
Edward ran his hand through his hair, pushing it back to reveal a sharp hairline. His forehead was smooth and attractive, his brow bones strong and defined, and his deep eyes were set beneath long, straight brows. Below his straight, prominent nose was a pair of perfectly shaped lips. He and Ryan shared a similar vibe, but their features were different โ Ryan had a softer, more delicate kind of good looks, while Edwardโs face was all sharp lines and cool intensity.
Of course, they still had something in common. When it came to men comparing sizes, thankfully, neither of them came up short.
I found myself zoning out as I stared at him, completely distracted.
Edwardโs gaze flickered as he asked, โYou know, people say Ryan and I look pretty similar.โ
My breath hitched โ how did he manage to read my mind so easily?
Whenever I get flustered, I always have to do something with my hands. I quickly looked down, kicked at the water with my foot, and splashed a bit onto myself. โWho says that? I really donโt see itโฆโ
Edward had already seen right through my discomfort. He leaned lazily against the edge of the pool and said in a calm voice, โWere you just looking for a trace of him in my face?โ
โNo!โ I shot back instantly. โEdward, are you just trying to pick a fight with me?โ
Edward: โ??โ
I glared at him, clearly annoyed. โDidnโt you bring me here to have fun? Why are you bringing up this stuff now? Youโre totally ruining the vibe, you know?โ
Edward didnโt get mad at all โ instead, he just grinned mischievously and yanked me right off the edge of the pool.
โAh!โ I squealed, instantly wrapping my legs around his waist and clinging to him like an octopus, arms locked tight around his shoulders.
Edward burst out laughing, clearly finding my awkwardness way too entertaining.
I wasnโt about to let him get away with it. I balled up my fist and socked him on the shoulder. โYouโre such a jerk! How am I supposed to swim like this? I havenโt been in the water in forever.โ
Edward gently caught my arm, holding me up so I wouldnโt sink. โSorry, I just wanted to tease you a little. Mostly, I really do want you to learn how to swim.โ
โI donโt buy it,โ I said, my chin resting on his shoulder. He was so tall and solid, and the way he held me made me feel completely safe.
Noticing my sulking, Edward leaned down and kissed my forehead. โCome on, donโt be mad, okay? Iโll spend the whole night making it up to you.โ
I blinked in surprise, leaning back a little to look up at him. โReally?โ
Edwardโs eyes were unexpectedly earnest as he nodded. โReally.โ
โAlright then, teach me how to swim right now,โ I said. Since he was handing me the reins, I was definitely going to take charge.
โYour wish is my command!โ Edward replied with a grin.
After that, I really did start learning how to swim for real. Edward was always right there with me, patiently guiding me through every move. Whenever I got tired and needed a break, heโd swim a few laps across the huge pool, then come back to my side. Heโd watch me with those gentle eyes, taking in my wet hair and face, and then reach out to softly tuck a damp strand behind my ear. The way he did it was so caring and tender โ it didnโt feel like he brought me here just to pass the time. There was something genuine in the way he looked after me.
With the way he cared for me, so gentle and attentive, I could feel something shifting inside me.
