Chapter 917
The two frolicked together for a while before parting breathlessly. Lily's lips were red and swollen as she struggled to move away. She refused to sit with him any longer; with this lunatic, she felt she would be torn apart if they continued. "Come here," Alexander murmured, patting his thighs, clearly dissatisfied.
"No! Let me rest!"
After straightening her clothes, she wondered if he'd come home just for this, as some form of compensation.
"Rest in my arms, then," he insisted, patting his thighs again.
"Alex!" Lily yelped as he stood. "If you're not coming, I'll come over there!"
"Stop!" She gestured, quickly changing the subject. "So, did you send your aunt away?"
His playfulness vanished the moment his aunt was mentioned. He slowly sat down. "Yes."
"I've met her once. While I didn't think you two had a good relationship, I didn't expect her to be such a threat." Physically, few could harm her.
"You don't understand!" Alexander exclaimed. "They're not just thorns; they're far more terrifying."
Lily's curiosity piqued at his reaction. She wanted to know what the Russells had done to elicit such contempt. "All right, let's not talk about them anymore. You don't have to think about it now that she's gone."
Lily stood and pulled him up. "It's rare you're home so early. Go out with me!"
"Where?" Alexander looked up.
"Shopping! We haven't shopped together in ages. I want to buy some clothes."
He raised an eyebrow. Lily rarely bought clothes; her purchases were usually perfume ingredients and raw materials. She wasn't particular about food or clothing.
"Why are you looking at me like that? I need clothes too!" Lily exclaimed weakly.
"Do you? Even if you don't, I won't mind!" Alexander scanned her from head to toe. Despite their intimacy, the thought still excited him.
"I mind!" she cried, tugging at him. "Hurry up! Let's go! I'm suffocating at home!" While she often stayed home and disliked shopping, there was a difference between choosing to stay home and being forced to. At least, that's how she felt.
Alexander, enjoying her touch, hesitated. He looked up. "Didn't you just go out? Aren't you worried about the paparazzi?"
"I'm not!" She dropped his hand. "Get up, quick! I'm going to change!"
She ran upstairs, a grin on her face. Alexander watched, dazed by her happiness. He straightened, looking at the large photograph of them in the living room. It wasn't their wedding pictureโa spontaneous shotโbut he loved it, and so did she.
