Chapter 796
Lily brought fruit and a thermos of hot porridge to the hospital for Olivia's visit. Since resigning from her job and starting work with Lily at the studio, Olivia hadn't been eating properly. Lily was shocked when she received a call informing her that Olivia was hospitalized. Relieved to learn from Edward that it was only a minor stomach ulcer, Lily quickly brought porridge and fruit early that morning.
"Where's the person who always made me eat? You're unbelievable! How could you forget to eat?!" Lily muttered, pouring porridge into a small bowl. "Your stomach is very sensitive now; you should only eat easily digestible foods. No more of your favorite delicious foods, no matter how much you crave them." She sat on the edge of the bed, blowing on a spoonful of porridge as she glanced at the still-laughing Olivia. Lily didn't know what to do with her.
"How dare you still laugh?"
"What a privilege to hear you nag," Olivia said sweetly. She was touched by Lily's concern. Olivia's voice had sounded off on the phone last night, and Edward had rushed to her in the middle of the night. He'd noticed her stomachache, immediately sent her to the hospital, stayed up all night caring for her, and even bought her breakfast. This thoughtfulness warmed her heart.
"You're sick! This is self-injury!" Lily rolled her eyes, bringing the spoon closer. "Open your mouth!"
Olivia obediently opened her mouth and ate. Grinning, she said, "You're right; I am sick. Otherwise, why would I be here?"
"Wow, you still have your wits about you! If you don't eat properly in the future, I'llโ"
Before she finished, chaos erupted outside, accompanied by running footsteps. The ward door wasn't closed, and they saw a group of people rushing past with cameras and microphonesโreporters.
"Reporters?!" Lily exclaimed, surprised.
"No way!" Olivia shrank back under her comforter, startled. "It's just a stomachache. It won't alarm the media. I'm not that popular!"
After a pause, she looked at Lily. "Lily, could it be for you?" It seemed likely; no one else besides Lily had the appeal to warrant a news crew.
Lily shook her head. "I don't think so. If they were here for me, they'd know my ward and floor. They wouldn't rush past like that."
"Who else could it be for?" Olivia asked curiously.
She was in a VIP ward, something few people could afford. She'd only learned the price after staying the night, and while dumbfounded by the cost (since it was already paid for), she remained. This was the VIP floor; there were few rooms, and she didn't know if the others were even occupied.
