Chapter 776

No one had ever said such a thing, stunning the sales advisors. They were speechless, unsure how to respond to Lily. Seeing their disappointed expressions, Lily realized they were eager to close a large deal.

She smiled. "I'll take the diamond ring, but do you have wedding bands? Mr. Russell and I would like to see your selection."

"Yes, we do!" The sales advisors, regaining their composure, stood to retrieve the bands.

"Won't you consider a larger diamond?" one asked.

Alexander listened respectfully as Lily spoke, offering no interruption. After the advisors left, he tucked a strand of Lily's hair behind her ear. "They're right. Larger diamonds retain their value better. Perhaps I should buy you a few more to play with?"

Lily rolled her eyes, detecting more humor than truth in his words. "What's the point? Even if I stored them, they'd only be raw materials for my perfumes. Otherwise, they'll just gather dust."

"There is!" Alexander leaned closer, grinning mischievously. "If I ever go broke, you can sell them for extra cashโ€”ouch!"

Lily lightly punched his chest, cutting him off. She was speechless at his flippant remark.

"That won't happen. Even if it did, my perfume business supports us comfortably."

Jokes aside, an ordinary person couldn't count La Beautรฉ Group's assets. Bankruptcy would devastate Hyderland. Lily was serious: she could support herself and her husband. Alexander chuckled at her seriousness.

Leaning on her shoulder, he teased, "So, I become your sugar baby? Excellent long-term plan."

The sales advisors returned with trays of wedding bands, witnessing this exchange. They lowered their heads, stifling laughter.

Alexander, unfazed, sat up straight. "Choose for us."

"I chose the diamond ring. Your turn."

Lily rested her chin in her hand, gazing at her husband. "The wedding bands mean more than the diamond ring. Choose wisely." Diamond rings are often worn only for show on wedding days, she explained, adding that the media often compares such things, diminishing their significance for her. Wedding bands, however, symbolized their lifelong commitmentโ€”a beautiful thought.

Alexander smiled, attentively examining the rings. At first glance, they seemed similar, all with diamond inlays, though smaller than the diamond ring. The carvings differed. After a time, he selected two.

"What about these?"

They were two frosted steel rings with tiny diamond inlaysโ€”simple yet elegant. "They're like our relationship: simple and pure," Alexander said, slipping one onto Lily's finger.
