Chapter 752

Although she didn't admit it, her reaction spoke volumes. Nathaniel chuckled meaningfully. "I see," he said.

"Whatever it is, I'm doing it for our mutual benefit. Don't interfere," Arianna said, grabbing her handbag and standing. "When you're ready, send it to my email." Nathaniel offered a noncommittal smile.

Arianna took a few steps, then stopped and turned. "Oh, I heard the company's first perfume is launching soon, and production is almost complete. Aren't you going to the factory to check on things?"

"Why should I? Someone's keeping a close eye on it. The credit will go to him anyway, so why bother stealing the limelight?" Nathaniel said casually. He knew exactly how many times Damian had visited the factory.

Arianna raised an eyebrow, offering a well-meaning reminder. "Are you sure your plan will work? If he discovers the problem before the launch, won't your arrangement be wasted?"

"If he could easily discover the problem, we wouldn't be here," Nathaniel dismissed her concern. "Don't worry. Do you think my plan stops there? He can laugh now, but he'll be in deep trouble when the sh*t hits the fan."

"Oh, yeah!" Arianna replied.

After a pause, he chuckled. "Do you know what that idiot named the perfume?"

"What is it?" Arianna asked, though she didn't really care.

"Victory!"

Nathaniel burst into laughter. He'd done the same thing when his staff first told him. "Victory?" he repeated, shaking his head.

After a moment's thought, Arianna joined in his laughter. "He certainly is confident," she commented.

"Well," Nathaniel said, "the less wit, the more the courage." He mused to himself, "Damian is incredibly naive! Even if they didn't plan for his failure, and the perfume is a success, does he really think he can earn a place at Tanner Corporation and then take over? If it were that easy, what about Arianna's years of effort? The money he'd make is nothing compared to her sales. Still, let him be full of himself. The more confident he is, the easier it is to predict his moves."

"All right. Don't get ahead of yourself. Keep a close eye on the project for the next few days. I hear he's arranged some model shoots and will make an official announcement soon. Make sure nothing goes wrong, okay?"

Nathaniel simply nodded. "Remember to send me a report!" Arianna said before leaving.

After a moment of silence, Nathaniel looked at a crushed can and tossed it in the trash. After his defeat at Lily's hands, he'd learned a lesson. Most people think they're predators, scheming against their prey, but predators often fall prey to bigger predators. Making his comeback, he didn't want to be prey or predator. He wanted to be the hunter, seeing through everything.
