Chapter 647

Henry and Nathaniel, oblivious to Lily's presence, departed after a time. Lily remained frozen, her gaze fixed on the emptiness before her. For a long while, she stood motionless, her arms clenched into fists at her sides. Alexander turned her, then embraced her. "We'll make them pay," he vowed.

Back at the car, Edward awaited their arrival. Once seated, he announced, "Mr. Russell, I've arranged everything." Alexander simply nodded, "Good." Lily remained silent, lost in thought.

She suspected Henry and Nathaniel's scented candles were intended to incapacitate her, making her vulnerable to their accusations. The candles were likely identical replicas, but a forgery would always fall short of the genuine article.

"Does La Beautรฉ Group's Sapphine branch stock perfumery materials and equipment?" she asked abruptly.

Alexander, reviewing information on his phone, was startled by her question. "Yes," he replied, nodding. "But it's a new branch; their stock isn't as comprehensive as the Brown City location."

"That's perfect!" she exclaimed. "Can we go there now?"

"Certainly," Alexander responded, though unsure of her plan. "Time is tight, though. What exactly do you have in mind?" He assumed it concerned the framing, but the timeframe seemed impossibly short.

"I can manage," she asserted, checking her watch. "Since we're already out, we need to ensure they're not disappointed, right?" Alexander, noting her confident expression, raised an eyebrow. "Edward."

Edward immediately understood and steered the car towards La Beautรฉ Group's Sapphine branch.

Returning to his room, Henry booted up his computer, inserted a flash drive, and opened it. He locked the door, drew the curtains, and rubbed his hands expectantly, his eyes scanning the computer screen. The drive contained only a few items: two folders and several sheets of paper.

"Huh?"

Initially skeptical, Henry's expression shifted as he examined the documents. His eyes widened in surprise, then his lips curled into an uncontrollable chuckle.

He hadn't anticipated assistance from someone with the surname Hall. Numerous underhanded actions had been perpetrated behind the company's back by long-term employees. How could Justin remain oblivious? Justin's apparent disregard for his "dereliction of duty" added a layer of intrigue. He was clearly unfit for the chairmanship. Even if aware, his inaction rendered him equally undeserving. With this evidence in hand, however, Henry felt certain of victory.

After multiple readings, Henry confirmed the data's accuracy. He then contacted a subordinate: "Get me Nathaniel Hall's contact information." Having always relied on Nathaniel to communicate with Gary, Henry hadn't previously sought this information, but now felt it necessary to verify it himself.
