Chapter 607
The two were being lovey-dovey, oblivious to the onlookers. Noah, unable to tolerate it any longer, stepped forward. "Mr. Russell, I know you're arbitrary, but I advise you to reconsider. Do you think La Beautรฉ Group is invincible? As long as she remains a perfumer in this industry, regulations will restrict her actions."
Lily bristled, but Alexander stopped her. "She's a perfumer because it's her passion. If she ever chooses to stop, I can support her without needing her to work. She can be a perfumer as long as she enjoys it, and La Beautรฉ Group will support her." He glanced at Noah, then continued, walking closer with Lily still on his arm. "La Beautรฉ Group isn't invincible, but neither are you."
They left, leaving Noah speechless and outraged, while Lily felt a surge of satisfaction. She had finally released the anger sheโd harbored for two days. Alexanderโs final words, she thought, were incredibly cool. She stared at him, finding him increasingly charming.
"Why are you staring at me?" Alexander asked, unable to ignore her gaze.
"You were so cool just now!" she praised.
His dissatisfaction was evident. He turned, blocking her path, his gaze intense. "Only just now?"
"O-of courseโฆ" Even after all this time, his gaze still flustered her. "Of course not, you're always cool!"
Alexander smirked at her stammering. He loved her shy demeanor, leaning in to kiss her. She pushed him away. "Get in the car!"
Edward waited in the car nearby. Alexander's frustrated expression darkened as his plans were interrupted. A hint of resentment flashed in his eyes. "Trying to escape again, huh?"
"Iโฆ" Lily couldn't defend herself. "When did I ever tease you?"
"You're not going to admit it?" He closed the distance, pulling her closer. He'd missed her terribly.
Lily felt his excitement, her cheeks flushing. She whispered, "We're in public!" Edward had exited the car, making her even more self-conscious. She pushed Alexander.
"So what? Is there a law against a married couple kissing on the street?"
"Stop it!" she said through gritted teeth, suddenly wishing to step on his foot.
"Mr. Russell!" Edward called, rushing over. He hesitated, glancing at Lily before continuing. The interruption darkened Alexander's expression. He didn't turn, merely saying, "What is it?"
The simple question belied his anger. Edward, used to Alexander's temper, seemed hesitant. Lily watched, confused, until Alexander turned, noting Edward's troubled expression. He sensed the gravity of the situation.
