Lily whirled around and approached Noah. He was unsure of the situation but prepared to assist Lawrence in preventing her departure, if necessary, to encourage her to join them. He did not interfere; from the society's perspective, everyone was aligned. He simply observed Lily's reaction.

When Lily moved toward him, Noah was startled. Several people watched, and he didn't want to appear cowardly. He forced his voice steady, attempting to project composure. He met her gaze and asked, "What do you want?"

He vividly recalled her previous rough handling. The memory of her nearly breaking his arm was still fresh, making him wary.

Lily didn't answer. Instead, she smiled and reached into his jacket pocket. To his astonishment, she produced a tiny perfume bottle—the one he'd seen her create. The perfume possessed a captivating, potentially addictive aroma. He'd intended to study it later. He hadn't anticipated her taking it. "Allow me to offer you a small gift. I hope it's not too modest," Lily presented the bottle to Lawrence with both hands.

Even from a distance, he detected a potent floral fragrance, but it was more than just floral; a refreshing, almost woodsy scent, infused it with invigorating energy.

"Did you make this?" Lawrence's expression remained inscrutable, but his gaze was serious. Lily shook her head. "No, it was a joint effort between Mr. Richards and me." She paused, gesturing toward the door. "We collaborated in the workshop at the house. Mr. Richards was thoughtful; he prepared everything I needed, including tools I'd overlooked."

Lawrence shifted his gaze to Noah before returning to Lily. "I'm well aware of Mr. Richards' capabilities. You, however, are less known to me. But this… gives me a clearer picture. I rather like this 'floral' perfume, and I'll keep it."

"Mr. Adler…" Noah protested, realizing Lawrence was taking what was meant for him.

"Reluctant to part with it?" Lawrence arched an eyebrow.

Noah stammered, "Of course not! If you enjoy it, please keep it."

Lawrence nodded and turned back to Lily. "So, you still intend to leave and refuse my offer?"
