Chapter 563
Arianna ignored him, examining the item in her hand.
"I'm telling you, this isn't good for girls. Why do you want it?" Nathaniel stood, walking over to Arianna.
"Just do as I say. The rest is none of your concern." She weighed the small packet. It was tiny, but sufficient. Nathaniel smirked, standing before her. "What? Am I just a tool for you?"
"You should be glad you're still useful." She carefully held the item before her gaze flashed coldly to him. "What about the other thing?"
"You know, even if I didn't tell you," Nathaniel sneered.
After a few days with her, he understood. She seemed to have relinquished control of her underworld activities, but she hadn't entirely. People still reported directly to her. He was merely her puppet, the one to take the fall if anything went wrong. He sometimes couldn't believe this scheming woman was his half-sister.
"Don't be sarcastic. I told you, you can leave anytime if you don't want to cooperate," Arianna said nonchalantly.
"Did I say I wanted to leave? Instead, I'm thanking you for this opportunity!" Nathaniel slowly picked up his phone, sending her a photo. "This is the person you're looking for. He should arrive in Ruby City in a couple of days, maybe next week. I'll update you with details."
"Okay." Arianna glanced at the picture. "Don't contact me unless necessary. I'll find you when I need you."
As Arianna turned to leave, Nathaniel asked, "Ms. Neville doesn't know about this, does she?"
She stopped, but didn't look back. "That's none of your concern." Then she left.
Interesting!
Despite their recent reconnection, Nathaniel saw similarities between Arianna and their mother. In fact, Arianna was even more cunning. He sensed many more secrets yet to be uncovered.
When his company collapsed, Nathaniel felt like a failure, believing he had no chance to recover. Now he realized he'd given up too soon. I still have a chance. Things are getting interesting.
"This Are you sure it'll work?" Brittany swallowed nervously at the tiny bottle of clear liquid.
Arianna shook her head. "I've never tried it, but it should. It was hard to obtain. Use a littleโdon't overdose."
Brittany remained silent, clutching the bottle tightly.
