Chapter 516

Lily was mentally prepared, but still shocked to see Olivia’s several facial scars. Even with medicine, the swelling persisted. “Didn’t you say you beat her up?” Lily asked, feeling embarrassed.

Olivia, proud, boasted, “Of course! You should have seen it—I beat her until she was on the floor! She looked so ugly!” Her triumph faltered when she met Lily’s suspicious gaze. Touching her cheek, she winced, muttering, “Tsk!” at the pain. “It’s just a small injury,” she continued, “an accidental scratch. Happens in a fight, but she’s much worse off, so I still won!” She beamed, as if anticipating an award.

Brittany, after all, had some social standing. Last time, Alexander had her back, but what if she got into trouble again?

Olivia smiled. “I’m fine. Besides, you know my temper. Who have I fought with in all this time? I wouldn't have bothered if she hadn't been rude and deceitful.” Brittany had initiated the fight; otherwise, Olivia wouldn't have retaliated.

“It happened because of me,” Lily said. “I bought you some snacks; they’re in your locker.”

“Really? How thoughtful!” Olivia smiled. “Thank you very much!” Food was never to be refused! Her mood noticeably improved. While grieving was difficult, looking forward was essential. “By the way, I’m looking for a new place. Tell Mr. Russell I’m moving out when it’s ready,” Olivia announced.

“Why the hurry?” Lily asked, pausing before adding, “It’s probably a good idea. Since Brittany found you, others might. Best not to get involved unnecessarily. Moving out is smart.” Lily didn't press further. With increased work, rent would be manageable.

Olivia hesitated.

Lily, knowing her well, urged, “Spit it out, Olivia. I’ll stop listening if you don’t say it now!” Seeing Olivia’s hesitation, Lily guessed her thoughts.

“It’s nothing,” Olivia finally said. “I was just wondering… with Mr. Russell’s background, he probably has many exes. Will I have to deal with them?” It wasn't Olivia's concern, but Lily, having broached the topic, now worried too.
